If I resign as a Center CPC and go contract. After 1 year, will the FAA consider the contract tower experience when given the list of facilities? Or will I just get Centers to choose from?

I don't see why they wouldnt give you a mix of towers, approaches, and centers since you have the mix of experience. But that would require common sense 🤷🏼

Once you CPC that is all that's considered.

At least that's how it's been, who knows what they'll do tomorrow.

Your CPC is experience is all that’s considered. Also, per the current reinstatement SOP if you CPC’d at a Z you will only be considered for reinstatement and placement at other Z’s once you’re past 12 months of waiting. Prior to 12 months you will only be offered the facility you resigned from.

So if you resign from a 11 z are you stuck with level 11 and below Zs coming back? I have faa low level up down experience too. Would that even matter?
