No one is saying you can’t be armed. Homsar acts like if someone is pro some gun control that we are in some frantic 24/7 guns need to be banned fixation
Could have sworn you said we could go unarmed for a year, without a problem. But ok

I guess that’s fine for you, being ‘civilized’ and all. Call 911, :25 later they might show, might not. By then it’s over anyway, wife and daughter/son mangled or worse. I just prefer to be armed. You do you sir
Yeah sorry that you think you need a gun, how many times have you defended your family with it?

Never have. But as the old saying goes-better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

So strange that you think you need a gun for protection, like I said, the rest of the civilized world feels safe

I’ve heard so many stories from gun guys about Having to pull their gun or they were about to pull their gun. It’s wild.

So do nothing and let an authoritarian steamroll them. Got it.

You have to be consistent: For example, using your logic, we should be funding an insurgency with arms in China to help the Uyghurs. "Defend Democracy" against authoritarians right?

If someone isn't directly threating us, we shouldn't be funding arms to any party in their conflict, period.

It is what's pertinent to the current conversation, not COVID, Afghanistan, or border policy.

Yeah, and I'm judging Biden for a Ukraine response I'm not happy with. We shouldn't be "defending democracy" there.

Tell that to all the dead Iraqis and afghanis that there's a difference.
This tangent has strayed so far from the original Occupy Democrats hypocrisy.

No. It’s not strange. It’s my right to protect myself and my family.
Do you think the rest of the world just has gift baskets for people when they break into their home and get mugged or what?

Not to contribute to this 2A monkey shit fight but......

I guess those uncivilized Nordic people better get hopping spring raiding season is fast approaching.

Culture problem, not a tool problem.
Not to deter this, but how much has to do with living in bfe and having to protect yourself from wild life, and those places again have way harder restrictions than we do

Those savage Savage reindeer must be stopped!

Admittedly, yes probably a lot of hunting rifles but many European countries, while they have restrictions and permitting, aren't as draconian as most think (that point goes both ways).

It's written into the constitution here, same as free speech and the rest of them. And like Motodog said rather have them and not need them than need them and not have them.

What kind of guns do they own? Ar15s with COD loadouts so they can LARP?
Some of them yes. They are attainable with permits in lots of EU countries. Finland, Poland, Germany, France, Czech republic, Switzerland I know for sure all allow them in some way or another.

And again, they don't have those rights expressly spelled out in their prime governing document as a right, which we do.

Permits you say?

Ya they can't vote either in most places.

I'm not advocating for violent felons to own guns but one could argue on both counts they did their time give them their rights back.
But does the constitution not guarantee their rights to guns. That’s the part I don’t understand.

Again, one could make the argument it does.

One could also argue if you fixed the socioeconomic/cultural/prison culture issues that lead to the insane recidivism rates in the US that wouldn't sound as insane as it does currently, but 5hats a whole different can of worms.

I just use it as an argument that obviously there has been limits on the second amendment since it seems that you can limit access to felons.
