Thoughts on a114 having to report to work?

BTW this argument is crazy to me. Defending a labor union for doing everything for at home computer people and nothing for the labor employees, what are we even talking about? It sounds like we are defending the FAA not laborers.

Because the number is tiny, union 114 involvement creates leverage for the union over the FAA, and it benefits the members at large. Complaining about it is just crybaby crab in a barrel bullshit. We gotta destroy union functionality to satisfy some whiny "I need someone in the trenches with me" feelings. The gain that you all want is nothing more than emotional. It doesn't help the union.

I think people who come in to work, have to maintain a medical, and plug in and work traffic six days a week have a valid criticism of someone who "works from home" and reaps the same benefits (good time).

Especially someone who works at a lower level who is basically throwing their health down the drain to make 110 grand a year while someone on 114 gets 200k and gets to see their family for an extra 40 hours a week.

Benefits and pay aside, it hurts the facility to have these people counted as staffing. So i think removing them from staffing numbers is an obvious way to move towards a better situation.

You can dismiss these criticisms but that doesn't make them invalid.

Alright. I won’t die on this hill, fair enough. A114 employees are not the downfall of this organization, yet. What is this labor organization doing for the average employee? It’s not pay, it’s not more time off, the fatigue MOU is an abomination of a benefit. If my money is going somewhere, where is it going?

People aren’t complaining about the concept

I agree with everything said here.

200k? Remember art 114 make zero dif or premium pays.

I’ll cry a fucking river over that. How many RVPs and A114s are at 5s? What are the majority of them at? And it’s for a reason. This is part of the reason people at low level facilities do not feel represented properly.
So are you asking for more a114 to be from low level facilities ?

And many times “Natca” helps those people move up into the level 10-12s for the pay purposes alone and knowing they aren’t gonna be on the books. I’ve heard many a story.

Helping them move up? Like moving them outside ncept ? What are you even saying. Don’t just talk nonsense, give facts. I’ve heard a lot of shit too, I don’t talk about it unless I can probe it

Well if you cannot probe it I would have some serious questions... What he means is that some individuals, and correct me unless I am wrong Mike Kilo, people that are picked up on NCEPT to a 10/11/12 just to get a A114 slot while clocking the pay increase.

Sure anyone can claim that, but who? Where ? When? I’ve never heard of this.

I think you got it backwards. Connected union guys have more pull to to place high in rankings, and connected union guys also have more pull to get 114 jobs. But it doesn't really make sense to need to lure 114 as a means to pick someone up. They probably already want the location. And if you're already article 114, it doesn't make sense for management to want you.

I was just breaking down his Mike Kilo's question.

Yes I’m sure they leave text threads open where they tell their union “brothers” that they will get them selected. Let me go get some screen shots.

And I’m talking about NCEPT. I can’t help if you haven’t heard about this. One person, I was told second hand by their coworker, was pencil whipped through a Houston facility that everyone knew had no business certifying. Gone a week or so later on full time Natca duties. Keep that head in the sand and believe what you want.
