Who has data caps on home internet? Sheesh.

I know of lots of folks who have them. Granted they're absurdly high and they usually give you a warning/free month - but I understand the beef here. All the more reason we should get move on with the furloughs, obviously.

I mean I won't call the complaint completely ill conceived, but do you really think the stars align that the one guy who complains is also the one guy who has a solid reason to complain?
My plan is capped at 1000gb per month. Then it’s like a $10 per gig overage charge.

Actually most people have data caps on their internet- if you check your plan it's set to some ludicrous amount (mine is 8TB but most are 5TB) to make sure you're not some kind of distributor for internet pirates.

I mean can we just furlough the trainees now and get it over with? Why put them through this misery. For real?

So you want hundreds if not thousands of trainees, many of whom are making less than $50k/yr, who moved their entire life across the country, to not be paid so the government can save a few bucks.

Your troll-o-meter must be broken... can I help you fix it?

blink twice if you're at IND or CLE

EDIT: just saw OKC. didn't realize they had their training time sky rocket. for a while I think CLE was leading the pack for up downs.
I've been here almost 2 and a half years and I'm not even close to sniffing the tracon yet aside from the occasional FD hit downstairs.....

If I were a betting man I'd say it'll be mid 2023 before I'm done. That's a big reason why I'm like fuck it let's keep these primo schedules going, I'm fucked anyways, what's 6 more months?

Let's be real, the only reason we are still on the great schedule is so the old crusties don't have to train.

Back to the new hire, academy talk....don’t y’all have a choice for starting online basics vs. waiting for in-person class dates??

You are a rare P65 talent w/ a lotta potential kid. Keep training during this Covid hold & I can see a title shot in your near future. Such quick ascension!

Well then that means no. Your career will always be screwed over in one way or another.
Did you know there was a law passed in the early 90s that was designed to keep federal pay in line with the private sector, and that were we following that law we would all get about a 25% raise? Instead, every year, every president implements an alt pay plan. How much money have we all lost due to that shit? How screwed over are we because of that?
And then of course there's the constant threat of furloughs, shutdowns, privatization. There's that end of fiscal year loss of CIP. Etc, etc.
You do know when they refer to federal pay it's referring to gs pay scale. We left that many moons ago and are about 33% higher than gs pay scale so not sure how you are getting screwed?

Already quoted this once: "Had Trump not acted by Friday, federal workers would have received an automatic across-the-board pay increase of 2.1 percent and locality pay increases averaging 25.7 percent under the 1990 Federal Employees Pay Comparability Act, according to the letter."

I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure locality pay isn't tied to GS scale.

Also, I don't consider myself "getting screwed"--- at least any more than most of America is when our 3 branches agree to give some people 1.7 million dollar tax breaks, say middle class high-income citizens don't deserve even $1200, and everyone else deserves just $1200.

Is it safe to say we should hear something about the training hold tomorrow? Do they (upper management, natca, whoever's in charge) still work on the weekends?

The 15th is right around the corner...
