I love the guys in the tower that say unable for no reason. Who cares? If it gets the plane on the ground quicker and you have nothing coming out why does it matter? If the best reason is cuz you think approach is being lazy and you don't want to help them, that's incredible
I most certainly care when the request is right after I got a DAT from approach. I don't say unable for no reason, if I'm saying unable it's because I can see something that isn't going to work with the request or I straight up don't think the person down stairs is capable of pulling it off.

And to clarify the request was for an ODO practice visual approach to the inactive for an a/c not landing at my airport. They just wanted a t/g then move on to their home field 12 miles away.

Some of y'all seem like I personally offended you.

Edit: Also you all know you don't need to have experience being a radar controller or tower controller to know that someone working opposite of you isn't that great at their job.

Are you monitoring them and know it's not a pilot request? Pilots hate getting vectored around more than controllers.
It wasn't a pilot request. I was monitoring before calling for a release so I heard the exchange.

Oh well yeah I mean if he isn't even landing at your airport then fuck him for sure, who does he think he is

I have nothing against pilots. I have beef against a controller who can't sequence a two planes to two different runways, then a few minutes later ask for something else that isn't going to work.

My apologies I forgot that I'm a low level tower controller that has no clue how things work outside my bubble.

When you call someone and go to leave a voicemail and you listen to their voicemail message and then you get the automated skank telling you "At the tone, please record your message" BITCH IT'S 2020 I KNOW WHAT THE FUCK TO DO WHEN THE DAMN TING DO A BEEP

I have grown used to the abc keyboard. The idiot that invented the FDIO can suck my... Why do we have all this new equipment in a level 12 but still can't have an easy way to amend flight plans like the center does? I mean we have so many blinking lights and fancy screens but can't amend flight plans?

I’ll gladly plant the kick myself.
Werent the majority of dinosaurs on the CWG that developed the keyboard your coworkers? Lol

I hope every dinosaur that decided on using the ABC keyboard for stars gets kicked in the nuts today
We had the micro eARTS keyboard when I was at SJU, it was QWERTY. You could bang a flight plan out in like 2 seconds.

"Hey typewriters have been a thing with QWERTY since like 1890, should we just incorporate that into the NAS equipment?" *gets fired*

I’ve been using the ABC keyboard daily for 3 years and I’m not joking when I say I’m only slightly faster with it than the day I started training. Where the fuck is the Q?!

You guys have a landline to tmu?

No idea, but I know when we upgraded to STARS a qwerty was an option and the dinosaurs said no and then retired before STARS even came online.

we have tmu in-house on a pedestal in the middle of the ops room so basically just yell.
Yeah our big tracon is similar but from my shitty tower it’s faster to call center TMU for anything outside of the local area.
