Training hold

I heard end of March was a "best case" scenario so I'm a little hesitant to get my knickers moist
I agree that March is optimistic, I think May is more realistic. A lot of facilities already have COVID schedules posted into April. I know it can be changed this far in advance, but that would add to the shock and pain a lot of people will experience going back to full time for the first time in a year.

Map link?

Map link?
Here's a hot take, I don't think that map means dick. I think literally every facility who really wants to train has gotten a waiver or found some other way around map if it wasn't working for them. Every facility that wants to delay training can simply point to the map and have no questions asked, as most facilities are a naughty color on the map, or can easily find some other excuse to not train.

I still have 8 days COS leave to take bro
Doesnt it have to be taken in the first year? Sounds like I'll be joining NATCA in the first week back and immediately grieving that I wasnt given an opportunity to use my COS since I was on EA for my first year so I should be able to use it now.

Excused absence may be granted up to two (2) years from the effective date of the permanent change of official post of duty.

You can use it during EA tho

Nothing stopping you from using leave while on EA. This one probably doesn’t make it out of your facility.

also you have longer than a year to use it

Pick up the slate book and read it. It’s the best thing you’ll ever do after reading the .65. Know your rights, so when someone tries to fuck you, you can grieve everything. Yeah that sounds like a bitch move, but it’s a bitch move when people don’t follow the contract.

6/1 will be standard everywhere in a few years after the effects of a year long training hold start being felt.
Dude, how long have you been in the Agency? Probably not long, if so that’s fine, I believed the staffing nightmare scenarios crises early in my career too. But it’s bullshit, the fact that so many places have been on Covid schedules for coming close to a year shows staffing numbers were inflated. Add in automation and thing like TMU making the job easier in the future and you need even less people. Plus the Agency and NATCA have basically said not to hold up check outs waiting for “pre-Covid” level traffic. Certs will come in avalanches the next two years.

Idk prolly depends what your facility pipeline is. We are building a huge 1-2 year gap between the people allowed to train and the people at home. (Since that’s the amount of time it’ll take them to finish from where they currently are in training) Plus we’ve lost several to transfers that have been approved during the pandemic.

There's 2 types of people in the agency: those who won't bang on a shift that's already short because "you're screwing your coworkers," and those who don't give a fuuuuuck.

Guess which group I moved into after 3 years in the agency.
I would say three years into the Agency is about when I converted on that too, maybe it's just the natural progression of things?
