Vaccine to override Gating Criteria

So was the vaccine override a regional decision or national? Seems strange some people have received multiple correspondence about it from both management and NATCA and other people haven’t heard a thing.

I just don’t think it’s been officially announced yet. Ppl were talking about it at work

AT MY Z, we had a zoom meeting saying that the recall process will begin for people who have had the vaccine + two weeks (since second dose or JJ). At this point they will be able to start training. Supposedly if you choose not to get the vaccine you will just be recalled at a later time that is unknown currently.

How long have you been in the agency? This is standard practice on pretty much any subject.

Yah that’s fine for them cus they make full rate. I’m talking more like a vaxxed kid fresh out the academy vs an AG that’s been there a year that decided not to.

The union sends out national emails on random crap all the time tho.

And I’ve been in 2 years. Only 12 months till that 1% agency contribution is vested baby!!!

They want to give their reps time to get a plan in place with management before they get flooded with emails asking what’s going on (I would guess). Maybe this Friday they will announce. That seems to be pretty common maybe.

My place didn’t waste any time. Got a heads up from local NATCA that this might be happening on Tuesday and then got the call from management yesterday to give 7 days notice, start next Wednesday. CPC-IT been home since the beginning.

That’s probably their plan, if they like excused leave they can sit on it for six more months, if they really wanted to start training they would have made the sacrifice and gotten vaxed.

My prediction: anyone who was forced to sit at home for a year and faces a TRB down the road will get additional hours. Even if the trainee sucks, no way the agency can prove the COVID delay didn’t have an effect.

Everyone who was in the middle for their hours basically reset

Fair point, but that applied to every trainee. The vaccination requirement for training would exclude some people from returning to training and would give others an advantage. The stupid part about all of this is we’re still allowed to work as D-Sides, but we can’t train. It makes 0 sense

Explain to me the difference between me working a D-Side unvaccinated every day but an unvaccinated AG trainee has to sit at home. Make that make sense.

It doesn’t make sense. you Should be able to train if your in the building already

That’s my point. If I am not required to get vaccinated to resume training why should an AG?
