Not all of the politicians, "government" as a whole....yes. conflating fda/cdc policies with congress is about as asinine as conflating them with atc.
The union fights for working conditions for labor (because in any hierarchical work system management will try to take advantage of labor, private industry, gov or otherwise) not your rights as a citizen.

Honestly this isn't easy to say one way or the other.
When one party consistently spends the last 5 decades trying to gut labor and unions and the other doesn't nearly as much you question why this is?
They don't say it because of rubes like you who can't see they are voting against thier own best interests when it comes to what the union cares about, except come election time when it comes to endorsing candidates, sans 2020 when it was way contentious.
