PHL Bid - AEA-ATO-21-RCM-73308

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone's heard anything? I'm still waiting! Wish they'd pick me up already so I can hurry up and wash back to my facility I hate so much! If no one has heard anything yet, I'll be sure to circle back to this thread in 3 days to ask the same question again. Also, I really hope DankVectorz trains me! He seems cool af ?
Suck my nuts

You’ll be sucking mine soon enough
I'll suck anyones nuts to get out of here including Acquired Taste because he's such a cool tough guy, I wish I could be like him and talk about people without mentioning them because my balls are so tiny. Definitely Philly like behavior to be too scared to @ someone

Someone wants to be tough and say things but never @. cringe if you can't say shit to someone because you don't like them
I get that completely.

This entire process is idiotic. Is this a management issue or HR. Who is making decisions on the hiring process, setting timelines, distributing information, etc?

Heard things may be getting delayed big time so who knows
That's what I've heard as well. As far as process, HR went through applications just to make sure ppl that weren't eligible didn't get sent to the ATM. As far as I know, the ATM/NATCA then goes through the applications to select the best candidates. But I'm hearing the whole process is coming along more slowly than anticipated. It IS the FAA, so that's not to be completely unexpected. Then again, that's hearsay.

The only idiotic thing is that people thought the FAA was gonna pull off moving this airspace to PHL by the end of the year ?

If you think this bid is to staff the current PHL stuff and not the new n90 airspace they're taking I guess that's also idiotic

I think anyone employed by the FAA knows it wasn't ever going to be done on time. I mean, with their track record..... But just because the actual airspace doesn't get moved as scheduled doesn't mean you can't start training people for when it goes down. There are maps to be learned and problems to be run and possible trips out to the wonderful fantastic amazing exciting spellbinding land of OKC!!! I think we're all just hopeful and anxious to know if we make the cut or not.

Why would the FAA hire people, pay them move money, send them to OKC and have them sitting around waiting indefinitely in Philly for an airspace move that could continue to be delayed all while they could continue working traffic and providing staffing where they're at. And when everyone gets there at the same time and creates super long training backlogs, they're going to have the same problems n90 currently has where people really need to go back to okc for a refresher or similar issues. My guess is they'd start sending out offers in Jan or Feb '22 assuming that the end of summer date for the airspace move holds strong. That gives them enough time to allow for the 3 month release from the current facility, request a tsew/tetra date, spend 2 months in okc for said classes, and then come back to PHL and do class and sims. Moving anyone before that makes 0 sense, so you can expect your offer to be in your mailbox by the end of the day tomorrow.

My expectation would be that they hire in batches. First batches do the academy and everything, then get sent on a temporary duty to train on the EWR sector while it's at N90. They would have a hard set date out of N90 when EWR leaves. They would be used at staffing when it moves to PHL. This gives you some staffing to help run the sector, you then move the sector with the new staffing, the vets that want to leave, and temporary duty some of the ones that want to stay to help train controllers at PHL.

I think everyone that applied knows this is to staff the EWR sector.
