Take this with a grain of salt it’s from stuck mic but here are the “updated” numbers from our bid.

Confirmed. Those are the correct numbers that updated on the FAA's internal site. As I previously mentioned, once this number updated, there are no longer any additional TOL waves. For those that have not received a TOL, the FAA will keep your file active until a week before the next bid. The reason they do this is if there is an unusual amount of people who do not make it through the medical, drug, psychological screening, etc. they have the ability to fill their spots with those still on the list. For a further breakdown...

1,266 selected
- 610 for Pool 1 (48%)
- 656 for Pool 2 (52%)

Pool 1 breakdown
237 out of 237 Band 1 Vets were selected
373 out of 452 Band 1 CTI's were selected
0 out of 52 Band 2 Vets were selected
0 out of 363 Band 2 CTI's were selected

I do not have a breakdown for Pool 2 yet.

ATO has stated the reason for hiring less then the advertised 1,400 was due to the current academy backlog and external pressure due to the language of H.R. 1964. H.R. 1964 was put into effect for the 2016 bid, it's what created the two pool system. As a component of the bill, anyone that had previously applied and aged out due to the hiring changes in 2014, could apply up until 12/31/17 regardless of age. With the ATO deciding to hire for two fiscal years during the 2016 bid, if they did not have another bid in 2017, they essentially only gave those candidates one additional opportunity in two years. As a result, they had a bid for 2017 and 1,266 people were given an opportunity they would've ordinarily not had.

For those 79 Band 1 CTI's that were not selected, my heart goes out to you. The fight to give you that knowledge is still ongoing. Until the FAA agrees, you are staring at a 79/(79+363)= 17.9% chance of being a Band 1 candidate if you do not elect to retake the AT-SA.

So is there still hope for more TOLs to come ?

Whoa, 79 CTI's who were band 1 AT-SA didn't get picked up? That seems really fishy...

What are the difference for band 2 and band 1 vet. I currently have a buddy in the Army NG with prior experience that hasnt received a TOL yet. I just curious as to how a prior experience vet can slip through the cracks on this bid.

It's how you scored on the AT-SA test.

With these bids the nature of his prior experience isn't factored in. For Band 2, his AT-SA score + his Vet preference = 70-79. If he isn't selected on a prior experience bid and applies to the next all source bid, he needs to retake the AT-SA. Band 1 vets will always be selected prior to Band 1 CTI's. Unless the number of vet applicants increase, Band 1 vets are a guaranteed selection.

I’m terminal as well- haven’t heard from medical yet- finishing up my equip today and mailing in my prints- so just waiting on medical now...

I'm terminal so I have less people on my side of the fence i've got medical monday then drug test Tuesday then I'm done! I'm thinking Juneish for me.
Is it known there is less of an academy backlog for terminal? My lease is up in April and I need to give 60 days notice. Was probably going to extend for 6 months, but if June is realistic I'll have to think again.

Are you able to do month to month? I'm not sure if you've stated you already have your appointments or not, but in this situation month to month may be a better option. It's typically a little more expensive but at least you're able to leave without being hit for breaking a lease.

I have my medical next Wednesday and drug test soon after.
My wife and I just got the lease renewal options and 1-5 months is $1600/month MORE than anything 6 or above. Shes planning to stay in the area while I'm in OKC probably so I think 6 months is safe. Her parents like 40 minutes away, so if she needs to move back there temporarily that's not an issue, but she'd much prefer to live in our current place.
