Santa & Whitaker are negotiating a green Chri$tmas!

Complexity formula needs to be changed for towers to whichever is higher:
- Passenger count
- Traffic count

Any airport that has boasted "record passenger numbers" shouldn't be getting downgraded. Complexity formula has absolutely fucked us over.
This is an oblivious take. The CI already undervalues VFR towers. Passenger count would just screw them more

Hence why VFR towers would be counted by traffic not passengers. Also fuel sales already goes into the Airport and Airway Trust Fund which many VFR towers have their own self serve pumps and have satellite airports fly to them for fuel.

Hot take: Most VFR towers are easy as fuck. There are only a handful in the country that are outside the norm. I've worked Class D, C, and B towers. Deltas are a joke.

I’ll tell ya, saying cleared to land and cleared for takeoff, on designated arrival or departure runways, is super tough.

Yeah lets ignore intersecting runways and hitting gaps. Let's ignore push backs, lets ignore SWAP season, lets ignore de-icing. What happens when a VFR tower gets weather? You sit there and play on your phone all day long. How many flight plans you entering into the NAS at your VFR tower? Does your VFR tower even have STARS? Oh wait, doesn't matter you can't use that for any radar separation.

What class D towers have you worked?

Coffe just needs to STFU and go work their traffic. They are probably a Sup providing over site.
The word you're looking for is oversight, not over site. But no, I'm not a sup.

I'm assuming you tell war stories in the tower about what you did back in the military or what your podunk tower used to do. Getting your feelings all hurt because I think both are easy.

Nah neither fuck head. Every controller deserves a raise for NATCA extending the contract and letting the FAA solve their problems with OT and poor hiring practices.
I hope you’re stuck at a 8 or 9.
Bet you suck good NATCA D and donate to the PAC that seem like your kind of ATC ego BS.

People getting so mad because I think VFR towers are easy. Too funny. Also I don't donate to the PAC. I did but I stopped after disagreeing with some of NATCA's decisions.

What other assumptions can we make?

Just because the vfr towers you worked at didn’t do any of that doesn’t mean it just doesn’t happen at others. My comment seemed to really strike a chord for some reason lol.

I bet you felt busy and overworked at some point at that VFR class delta. Some days you get shit on and you should get paid for that. Also how many ops we talking here because 100 a day compared to 500 is a pretty big difference lol

Low 600s during the summer. Minimal in the winter.

And Im not saying they don't deserve pay raises, I simply think they're easier compared to Bravos and Charlies.

This argument all started because I suggested a facility either uses passenger or aircraft count for their levels. People get so offended and didn't read. VFR towers can keep using plane count. Core-30s should be using passenger count.

I'd love to hear a legitimate replacement to the complexity formula that doesn't fuck over a facility. I don't count paying everyone like a 12 regardless of facility a valid idea even though Ive seen it suggested on here or Reddit.
