How is this situation currently going for you? Asking because I’m fairly certain I will be going through something similar whenever I get my medical.

I'm in the same boat. Two alcohol charges that were dismissed. I don't know whether I start gathering up the records or wait unless they "pass" on me.

I have absolutely every possible thing ready that they could want. Court documents, driving record, police report, class completion letters, trying to make this as smooth as possible.

I bet if past bid people read this thread, they'd probably get irate. I am in near disbelief things are going so fast
Shouldn’t be irate, should be happy the process is working as it should. This level of expediency is unheard of. It’s good for everyone.

Question about getting a later class date. I’m about a month behind those of you who are getting class dates, just waiting to get my medical done. If the timeline is similar for me from this point forward as y’all, I could be getting offered a class date in April.

My wedding is June 16, and we have a honeymoon booked the week after. Obviously don’t want to go before then. I’m guessing that’s a pretty legit reason to get a later class day right? But I also have a couple work trips in July/early August that I am co-leading and I would be leaving my team in a bad place if I was gone. Is a work-related reason enough to get a deferred class date?

To hold my tongue and be as kind and blunt as possible...

If assigned an initial class date of April, I'd fully expect the FAA to give you a take it or leave it ultimatum of the last week of June.

Wedding yes, work-trips for a job you're quitting, no.

I'm sure the wedding thing will be fine but I can almost guarantee the FAA doesn't give a flying hoot about your other job and having a business trip.

Thanks! Appreciate the feedback! That’s what I expected to hear. I work for a non-profit geared towards high schoolers and we have a couple camp trips, would just be a bummer to leave my team and miss those trips with the students I work with, but for sure wouldn’t think twice about accepting any ultimatum.

Are you terminal or enroute? Seems like HR has been streamlined this year and people are moving at an unusually rapid pace.
Enroute OTS. They work with you on class dates. As long as there is vacancy. They work with you on dates before you get locked in and get the official FOL.

I had called, my analyst told me to call if I hadn’t heard from him the day before. Turns out he had already sent it when I called.

Interesting. Sounds like you've made more calls than me. After my email fiasco from a page or two (or three) back I was told just waiting on medical to clear. Haven't made any calls and don't know who my analyst is.

The general mailbox (9-agl) gave me my POC name, I reached out to him and he pulled my file from the stack and sent it straight to the flight surgeon. In total my medical once it hit the analyst desk took maybe 3 days to be cleared.

@MJ, or anyone that has credible information, did they revamp the medical process? Or just what exactly is going on?

This is just what I heard from my analyst, but he was telling me that the medical process really doesn’t take that long. It depends on the analyst handling your file but in the time I called him he pulled my file, went page by page through it and sent it to the flight surgeon for review. His analysis took less than 5 minutes and I was cleared.

He told me generally people are cleared rather quickly but if you have medical issues or are tier 2 it’s an entirely different process.

Well I'll be damned. Maybe I should ask for my POC if they'll just pull my file from the stack lol. I finished everything weeks ago so I'm sure they have everything they need.
