Maybe people voted red because of something you haven’t put fully together yet… If you don’t understand, you haven’t attempted to try and understand. Enough talking to the right people and you will at least get it, even if you disagree.

If... overnight... every single person in this entire country EXCEPT Air Traffic Controllers got a 30% raise, I s%&t you not, somebody will be here to try to justify it, spin it, downplay it, etc.

Not sure where you’re getting your information. This is pretty easy to look up.
According to the ATP Flight School, Delta Air Lines is one of the top-paying airlines in the United States for captains with 12 years or more of experience. Captains at Delta Air Lines can earn a salary of $279,408. Meanwhile, FedEx is the top-paying cargo airline in the United States, with captains with 12 years or more of experience earning a salary of $333,040. A good friend of mine just retired from UAL on the 787 at just over $300K.

Your sources are partially correct, but their compensation is more than just their base salary. They’re not factoring in premium pays like per diem, green slips, and profit sharing. Read through this forum and you’ll see End of 2023 Salary Survey - Airline Pilot Central Forums
Edit: $1,000,000 for a pilot is an enormous stretch, but mainline captains earning $500,000+ is totally possible

Hey, at least we know he’ll pay her and keep good records of the financial transactions (both Venmo and hard checks written out to “tuition reimbursement,” lol).
