2152s were not automatically eligible. You guys are so smart aren’t you. You speak like you know everything, but unfortunately you don’t. I’ll make sure people that stumble on this forum at least get facts.

It's literally just because we're not title 5, trying to say getting ATC included in PPL was a win for NATCA is the lowest hanging possible fruit on the tree. Getting the same benefits as the rest of the government is a minimum, they need to work on getting us the same benefits as the rest of the industry too (read: Pay).

Also, the TSA union beat NATCA to getting the exemption. The Air Force was able to get PPL retroactive for 365 days (they're Title 10).

We advocated for the law in the first place. That concept is not uncommon. Our Legislative team matters. Just because others also benefit doesn’t mean we can’t all celebrate the victory. Many groups advocated for that

I was just correcting the statement that we were automatically included. That’s all.

Are the 4-5 people you mention just coworkers at your facility, or are you hearing this from elected reps/higher NATCA officials?

It’s either low-information people doing what they do, or knowledgeable people trying to lie and assign a win to the union for appearances. Couldn’t say for sure.

Dont just listen to random people at work or online, talk to the people doing the work for you. Their explanations will give you the truth.
I'd hardly call the people I regularly sit next to and talk with 6 days a week "random". There are people at work who have been in the agency a long time who don't volunteer for natca but still know what's going on.

But regardless, I've been told this from elected reps, higher ups, and A114's. Their explanation included "we forced them to include us on the bill and we got it done" and that was the end of it. But sure I'll go reach out to people who volunteer for the legislative side of NATCA and maybe I'll get more answers. I just personally feel that anyone and everyone who volunteers for NATCA is going to say that they made sure we were a part of the bill when it makes zero sense why we, federal employees, were not included in the first place. Without NATCA, would that have been corrected naturally? I don't know.

Yup. When my daughter was born, I couldn't get PPL because it wasn't yet effective for us. Had NATCA gotten it applied retroactively to the same date as the original law, I would have.

Hey look, it's poose being completely wrong then acting like he wasn't completely wrong, again.

- PPL is a result of law change under the Federal Employee Paid Leave Act codified in FMLA/ 5 USC.
- Federal employees eligible for title 5 FMLA leave are eligible for PPL

If you can explain how I'm wrong in either of these assertions, I will Venmo you my next paycheck. Glad to see you are still with us, blarg. I was worried the election results got the best of you.

There was a loophole for certain employees to be excluded. That loophole included ATC.

When the law passed. ATC couldn’t use PPL. It’s just a fact. It’s ok to be wrong about something.

I’m not refuting that. I agree. That wasn’t an intended consequence of the law change though.

By the way, how many dudes are gonna be in your circle jerk at this year’s NATCA holiday party? Think your forearms will cramp up again?

You replied to this (which is completely correct, we would not have gotten PPL the way it was passed):
So off the PPL thing, what exactly happened again? I keep being told from union people that if it wasn't for the union we wouldn't of ever been included for PPL. I thought it was an oversight that we weren't included and would've gotten it regardless?
with this:
PPL eligibility is tied to FMLA under Title 5 and is the result of legislative action back in 2020.. it extends to any federal employee under title 5 regardless of union negotiation. Sounds like people are feeding you a crock of shit.
Which implies that was wrong and we would have gotten PPL. We would not, and congress wouldn't go out of their way to fix it without our lobbying to do so. Otherwise what crock of shit are you talking about? We aren't title 5 moron. So yes, you are wrong. Again. You could at least prevent us knowing how stupid you are if you just shut the fuck up like I continue suggesting.

The election didn't get me, don't worry. I'm sure you're happy you'll be paying more for everything pretty soon because you got tired of high prices so you voted for the guy who explicitly stated he's going to do everything in his power to do things that will cause even more price increases. So proud of you still.
Oh yea, and Republicans are already trying to freeze federal employee salaries and hiring! Nice work! Can't wait for that contract negotiation.

In Blackburn’s proposal it Looks like we would be exempt from pay and hiring freezes because we’re public safety and technically a national security related occupation. Have you seen something different?

Everyone always forgets about us. And it would be nice if we were considered public safety to govx and other discount sites 😅
