To get the best and brightest we need to attract them with pay just to apply. Then, make the passing rate 90. Test more people. Hopefully it would net more cpcs. I’d imagine cami should have some statistic on initial atsa score and whether or not person reached CPC.

Just to provide some ammo to your point, DOD ATC increased the SSR (Special Salary Rate) that goes on top of our GS pay by 10% last year, and we’ve gotten lots more interest from FAA controllers to come work DOD. Our facility hired 3 former FAA controllers within the last year.

It's so evident that money is a motivator for so most. When they jacked the promotion bonus for FLM's to 15%, you had an absolute throng of mid controllers rushing to apply. We used to be short on supes and now we are FAT af at my building!!

Shout out to my boy at Fort Rucker top of the 13 band. Sometimes I wish I had stayed at NQX, but trying to clock that pay 🙂 DOD jobs though are going to be fat staffed for years.

The schedule and leave potential alone are way more attractive to the DoD side. An SSR increase is a cherry on top.
