You mean those tax cuts that cap your property and state tax write off at $10k and actually raised my taxes? Yeah it’s awesome my money gets taxed twice now.

Yesterday, the President transmitted an alternative pay plan to the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives and the President of the United States Senate, in accordance with the discretion provided in the Federal Employees Pay Comparability Act of 1990. The alternative pay plan includes a zero percent general increase for 2019 and a zero percent locality pay increase. Although some media outlets are referring to this as a "pay freeze," it would only affect the January pay adjustment and would not affect any other contract-related pay increases.
It is important to note that the President's alternative pay plan will take effect only in the absence of congressional action. The Senate already passed the Fiscal Year 2019 Financial Services and General Government Appropriations Bill that includes a 1.9 percent pay increase for federal employees, effective the first full pay period in January. However, the House of Representatives did not provide for a pay increase in its Financial Services and General Government Appropriations Bill, 2019. Ultimately, the House and Senate will have to reconcile their bills in conference, otherwise deal with this disparity as part of a larger appropriations package, or pass a Continuing Resolution (CR) before appropriations expire at the end of September.
If no appropriations bill or CR is signed into law before Oct. 1, the government will experience an emergency shutdown. If Congress passes a bill that includes a pay increase and it is signed into law, the President's action yesterday will be overridden.

You live in a high tax state. Why shouldn't you pay those taxes? They fund the activities of the state you live in. That's like saying you shouldn't pay federal taxes. I don't understand why this is even an argument.

^ I get what that guy is saying, I live in a high tax state due to decades of Democratic rule pumping taxes up and soon I will hit the cap too. Still, the tax cuts are for the greater good and unless you are making over 120K and/or have a expensive house most people won’t hit the 10K cap.

I don't know if you're a controller or not, but I'll assume you are. That G6 that you're clearing for takeoff or vectoring, the guy inside was able to stash a few hundred million extra in his accounts this year because of the tax cut. That's your raise money going into his pocket while ballooning the national debt. Meanwhile the tax cut either screwed you if you live in a high tax state, or gave you a very small amount of extra take home at the expense of increasing the debt burden on your children. Hey, I understand if you vote republican because you're a wealthy business owner who is trying to enrich himself, but if you're a controller and you vote republican, you're a f***ing idiot. Because there are no other possible reasons why someone would vote R instead of D. Also, the "very low IQ" insult just doesn't sound as cool coming from you as it does from our president.

Sorry, but if you're a controller who derives all their income form their work, and you vote republican, you are voting against you're own interest, Unless you're trying to make yourself suffer for some underlying psychological reason, that's a pretty stupid thing to do. I accept differing views in the political arena, and if it benefits you to vote republican, more power to you. The past is full of lessons that clearly spell out that most republicans law makers are not our friends. Those who do not learn the lessons of the past are doomed to repeat them.

I didn’t once mention anything about a vote anywhere. I will say that it would be very hypocritical of me to complain about the the economical situation of the country and not be willing accept some cuts that directly effect me. The bigger picture is the country is in debt, cuts need to be made, do I want it to be the federal workforce? No, but this is hardly going to put any one of us in poverty. I do care about the future debt of the country and what that means to generations to come.
Side note, my vote (local and national) has more to do with how this country is run, not necessarily how it effects my wallet.
