No January raises this year

Took you this long to realize that? I saw it coming since the Bush days
No I mean we're doomed cuz the Spoony90's are out there voting anti labor. Great job everyone.

So many liberal shills...

Yall drink your koolaid. Both parties dgaf about you
You're right because the corporations have bought both the parties. A problem put on steroids by Citizens United. But we work for the government and only 1 of those corrupted parties will constantly slash against our union's hard fought victories while they distract half of you to blame things on lazy poor people.

If this same government expects me to work 6 days a week 50-60 hours a week forever the least they can do is give me a cost of living raise every year it’s applicable.

Don’t forget, during a shutdown they also expect you to go into work and not get paid. Later you will get paid, but in the mean time, I hope you can pay your bills!

Im smart enough to know no politician will ever care about me. I didn’t vote. They gave us shit in one hand and nothing in the other. We were gonna f*cked either way. Just depends how you want it.

Both parties suck. One party has been consistently better for air traffic controllers. There are always at least two options when voting, and regardless of party affiliation one is better than another for your particular circumstances. If you choose to not vote your complaints mean nothing and you’re part of the problem. Do you work for the FAA?

Lol this guy again....
Im a tax payer so I can complain all I want

Yeah, this guy again. At no point did I question your 1st amendment right, but siting on the sidelines makes your compalints worthless. Did you gloss over the FAA question on purpose? Only an assumption, but I’m guessing you are not a controller working for the FAA. If that’s the case your opinion on our pay and working conditions really mean nothing.

I do work for the FAA. At an understaffed facility. In all honestly, I don’t see them freezing pay. Too many people would be in uproar. Same reason why they won’t cut welfare benefits or government handouts. It’s all talk so in the end they can say “see, we care about you, we fought for you”

Guess I’ll throw my .02 in here just because I’m bored and I just read all of your comments haha.... I don’t claim a party, but I will vote for what’s best for ME. I definitely will never understand why people would vote against their best interests.. this whole “bigger picture” thing cracks me up. And for those of you who think that if someone doesn’t vote, they can’t complain... have you ever thought about that this way: their non-vote IS their voice. It’s similar to our NATCA elections. People don’t get why X amount of members don’t vote, but it’s not that hard to understand. If candidate A and candidate B haven’t convinced them they’re the right person for the job then they haven’t convinced people that one of them deserve their vote.. literally the voter may not feel like their vote matters because neither person is going to represent them in a way they feel is good/best or with their best interest at heart. Someone may not want A or B and therefore doesn’t want to have to throw a vote in favor of someone they aren’t in support of.. hence a no vote, hence their voice- no one is good enough.

Maybe all that will make zero sense to y’all, but it’s so much easier to think about than to try and explain :)

The original point I failed to get across is, there are worse thing that can happen than not getting an annual cost of living raise. I’ve worked for the government long enough to have learned to choose my battles.

As far as an individuals vote, that’s what it is. We all have different priorities in life, and just because these priorities are different, doesn’t make any of us right, wrong, smart or dumb and our votes or non-votes will vary because we are all at different stages in our life.

conversation ab fisical policy with almost no financial arguments being made...

Anyway, avoiding the political babble, from what I read in the p r o p o s a l, it seems to me this haults max pay positions (& forgive me for not speaking in fluent cpc) and the salaries of different levels within each pay band or schedule. Am I interpreting this correctly or is anyone else interpreting this the same way?? Would this mean that Trump’s proposal wouldn’t effect pay raises associated with development in one’s position??

“Although some media outlets are referring to this as a "pay freeze," it would only affect the January pay adjustment and would not affect any other contract-related pay increases.”

No it has nothing to do with getting raises as you certify. It’s just the January cost of living adjustment raise.

It's ~2.1% that you're not getting added into your current basic pay and it results in way more than that because it's a missing layer in X years of compiling raises.
He also "proposed" a 5% pay cut for us in his last budget. But yeah keep thinking both those damn parties treat us the same...

Maddening ignorance. You work for the government you're not joe the plummer, it's makes a huge difference.

Forgive me, I must have forgotten when I said that I think that... please quote me :)

It starts with no raise, then another passed over raise, then a concerted effort to weaken unions, then 10% into FERS, then no social security supplement and on and on until the career benefits many of us have come to rely on become unrecognizable. At what point do you stand up for yourself? If you ignore cancer and let it fester, you die.

A bad day under trump will always beat a good day under killary
Simple response, NO! No it does not. You have been corrected

Our country is in over it’s head in debt and cuts have to come from somewhere. If there’s a few less bucks in my pocket, that in some way shape or form helps, I won’t complain.(it’s better than a sequestration)
There's literally THOUSANDS of ways they can get the money b4 effecting us. Don't short change yourself. This office is $hit

This does suck, and it's harder to justify with the booming economy, but look at it this way, the tax cuts you got this year more then off set it (they were not just for the billionaires). Plus if you credit Trump at all for the economy how many more tens of thousands do you have in the TSP? I won't worry unless this happens back to back years or more.
there is an 18 month lag on economic health from the last administration. This is still mostly President Obama's work. I'll wait another 4-6 months b4 I give trump any credit. This pay freeze is crap, and it's all this current administrations
