Hiring Bid Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee: FAA-ATO-18-ALLSRCE-57792

For those of you with FOL’s how long after you cleared everything did you get a call/email with a class date? I cleared the last thing on Wednesday and haven’t heard anything, just wondering if that’s normal.

Is the only way to know when you’ve cleared certain/all steps to reach out to your POC? None of my POCs have been particularly responsive to any questions...

They emailed both after I cleared security and then medical. I wasn’t sure if MMPI was in medical so I emailed about that and they responded the next day and said it was and I’ve cleared it. So that is everything but still no word on a date, just wondering what’s a normal time to expect one.

If you've cleared everything, then probably sometime in the next week or two I'd assume.

IMO I would reach out a week after you’ve completed anything just to see. I did and was told I was waiting on medical, I’ll probably contact my POC again after a month just to check in.

So for the guy who said I was gonna get tiered 2, I just did. Hahaha well it definitely adds time but still excited to get the chance.

Your MMPI or something with medical? What did they email you saying if you don't mind?

For what it’s worth, I called my HR poc today and she said I was only waiting on medical. Cleared my drug test and was granted conditional security clearance.

I’ve emailed medical multiple times, and I still don’t know what specifically I’m held up on. I’ll prolly follow up a week from now and see if anything has changed.

Congrats to all who’ve gotten FOL’s so far!

Cleared everything on a Friday, got a call on the next Friday

I'm not sure when I cleared everything, but my POC called saying I was cleared and offered a choice of class dates.

Keep in mind that they only offer class dates when 1) you've passed all your clearances and 2) they have class dates available. Looking at the en route and terminal class listings, it looks like they've scheduled classes starting into June, so we haven't hit that yet—but as people were saying a few pages back, once those classes fill up they may not open up more until after Congress passes another funding bill.

Why you gotta be like that??
Joking aside, when do you think a funding bill would be passed? Pardon my legislative ignorance..lol

Typically how long after you submit your eQip is it before they reach out to your current employer? I assume they won’t give you a heads up beforehand? I tried asking my security POC but she never replied...

I have a pretty good working relationship with my current boss and would like to give him a heads up before a letter shows up in his box. But I also don’t want to tell him too early given there’s a chance the process can takes months before a class date. As soon as I tell him, he’s probably gonna start looking for my replacement lol.

It could vary. I've seen some people in this thread say that their employer got the letter a week after submitting it.
It'd be best for you to give them a heads up whenever you submit it just to be safe.
Better that they get the word that you're leaving eventually from you and not from a letter. Just explain how this process could take awhile and that you'd give a 2 weeks notice before you actually go.

when do you think a funding bill would be passed?
Ideally sometime before September 30th, 2019. In reality, who the hell knows. BUT (as you can see with the shutdown the just happened) they did have classes going right through the funding deadline, in the hopes that a bill would be passed in time. So they probably will open up more classes, they just might drag their feet about it. These are all just guesses.

My employer got the letter within a week of my submission. You might want to give a heads-up a day or two after you do it.

I told mine during the shutdown what was going on. They were extremely understanding and have been this whole time. That being said, I’d tell them ASAP, otherwise it looks like you’re hiding something, or so I felt.

That being said, to answer your question, my employers received multiple pieces of mail(2 I believe) within about a week or less. One went to my supervisor and the other to HR.
