Hey guys, a few pages back I posted that I called HR and was told I'm best qualified but haven't received a TOL. I know there are others in the same position as me, but I'm wondering if part of the reason I wasn't selected is that I'm living abroad, and have been for the past 6 years (I'm not military). Has anyone else gone through this process while living abroad? Does it cause any issues with getting security clearance? Does the FAA maybe not want to pick candidates who are living abroad because it could be an inconvenience? Or am I just thinking too much into this?

Isn't a factor. I've been living abroad for the past 7 years and I received a TOL

I would just continue to apply when an open bid is posted. I applied in 2017, but did not receive a TOL. I re-applied in 2018 with no changes in my qualifications, and I opted to recycle my ATSA score, and I was selected. One can go crazy trying to analyze how the selection process details work lol.

Finished medical exam this morning, was literally in and out in 15 mins! Drug test this afternoon and then everything is completed/submitted! Then it’s the waiting game...

You did an EKG, urine test, vision test, color test, and hearing exam all in 15 minutes?

Sounds pretty reasonable to me. Mine wasn't more than 25, and that's largely because I couldn't squeeze out the twenty drops of piss that the doc required of me.

Mine was 20 min in and out the door. When I asked if they have a lot of FAA candidates going through the same process, the nurse said "lots and lots of pilots and atc". Needless to say, they have a very efficient system here in Nashville

Well the other part of that was, I was the only person in the medical office this morning lol. That probably helped speed things along

I think it’s been said that you’ll be offered levels 4-7 from the academy if you go Terminal route. If you go En-Route you’ll get I think 8 is the lowest (ZUA) or level 10 lowest stateside. If you go Terminal you’ll have to get rated, do your time, then transfer to a higher level.

They reached out to me. It was a two part thing, they needed my military records and that I was tier 2 for mmpi.

When did you take your mmpi?
Being tier 2 is gonna put a hold on your process.

Weird story behind it, but would very odd behavior from the technician handling your drug test be of any concern?
