Hiring Bid Experienced Bid: FAA-ATO-19-ATCEXP-60073

Plenty of people will gladly go work at these "Podunk shitholes". It's only seems to be prior exp folk that have issues working at low level facilities.

I wouldn’t go as far to call them “podunk shitholes” but when I’m working 1,300 ops a day now, I’d prefer to not regress to a facility working 75 ops a day. Personal preference I guess.

And it's understandable everyone wants to be making more money at a better facility. What I don't understand is why some prior exp folk think they deserve to go to the mid or high level facilities right off the bat, when there are folks who have been in the FAA for years that are trying to transfer to those same facilities. Sure you guys and gals may have worked busier traffic than a level 5-7, but the FAA needs to staff these hard to staff low level facilities. These prior exp bids should be seen as a getting a foot in the door with the FAA at a low level facility. Sure if a person doesn't like the list turn down the job, and move on, stop acting like a level 5-7 is an insult to your abilities.

It appears I have stuck my nose in someone else’s shit so to speak. But it seems like we’re continuing to beat a dead horse with this argument. It pops up in every thread on this site.

Off the street hires should go to low level!

But academy grads are just as capable!

No! Prior exp should be afforded higher level!

No! Wait! Every new hire should be sent to a level 4 tower only and transfer up the ranks, step by step until you reach your desired location/pay scale/facility level!

I’m going to say what has been echoed throughout the chambers here, ya can’t make everyone happy ??‍♂️
