Yesterday while I’m working 3 different times guys from the same flight school (not local) called me not 5 miles from the vfr towered airport they departed from asking for flight following. None of them seemed to have any clue they could make that request with the tower they took off from not 5 minutes prior....really?

That's cause I terminated him but switched him to you anyway for the shitty sequence i got two controllers ago...
 
I can say I'm definitely guilty of sitting down at a position, immediately calling adjacent facilities / centers and telling them "look I don't know what was going on but he/she went on break... New dealer!"

Also important to decontaminate the filthy sector w clorox wipes and change the settings so the data blocks don't cover the entire scope on max old man font. D-side or A/D says do u want me to do ______? Don't care! Do what u want. If u have to ask then don't. Stupid landline calls are my pet peeve. "Dovu want me to turn/sequence/separate/space those 2? Noooo, let them hit. yes obv , Do yer jobbbbb & hangup!!!!!$-$+%;!$+3

stacks make it way more fun. ppl in ARTCC used to roll their eyes and make fun of me for APREQing stacks w approach when in a jam.... which was very ignorant. im like u dont understand...they love this shit! anyone can work under ideal conditions

Most of the time it's a prop and jet.. My first transmission is grabbing divergence. 15° the jet descends through the props alt wing tip to wing tip which probably looks BA out the window, jet out runs the prop and is through his alt and life goes on. Same with jet to jet. 15° someone is #1 and someone is #2... Choose wisely ???

It's really not that hard.
 
When your facility has noise abatement procedures to avoid a neighborhood but you live in said neighborhood and could care less about what your neighbors think....

Noise abatement for this C-17? Nah turn him left/right to a 290 and send over down town Nashville on a Saturday morning at 0600. Operational necessity, to hell with the hippies.
 
Had this happen last week except I was in the tower. Guy took off wanted to go westbound, waited til he got out of the a/s he asked for a frequency change, I asked if by chance he happened to be looking for practice approaches to our neighboring airport and he said yes... well, they were on a west operation so he had to turn around and fly 10-15 miles back the other way because he didn’t tell us out the gate ??‍♂️


There's that, and there's the asshole at approach who thinks cancelling auto VFR releases somehow punishes us. Okay, every one of them contacting you at the boundary...which is worse? They're still coming to you either way.
 
Putting an airport you want to go to as number 1 on your list just to be offered number 15. Then realize the same airports you listed as #1,2, and 3 are still on the lists that follow like they’re available.
The only choice many of us got was one facility. Take it or leave it. Be thankful you get a choice
