Hiring Bid FAA-ATO-19-ALLSRCE-61676

I can't find the page where this question was asked last but, does anyone know when they contact your current employer? I don't want to tell them too early but I also don't want it to come out of nowhere.

They do, they will contact HR and whoever you list as your supervisor on e-QIP.

Edit: Sorry, I missed the word "when" when I first read this. I saw the letter come in for my supervisor, and it was 13 days after I submitted my e-QIP.

I just submitted my eQIP last night. Had the conversation with my immediate supervisors before I left work yesterday. I can reply back to your question as soon as they get the letter to give you a rough idea of the time frame.

Security will contact you. They will ask for a couple forms as well as your fingerprints. After they receive that package in the mail then they will send you your eqip registration code

They contacted my supervisor and my current employers HR 8 days after I submitted the eQIP. I told my supervisor the day after I submitted it that they would be reaching out.

Yeah I told my supervisor the day after I submitted my eQIP as well. They took it surprisingly well and expressed their full support. I have a pretty good working relationship with my management though so I think that helps.

Was my exact experience as well. Definitely recommend to those who have not yet had this conversation yet to take this approach. Obviously, everyone's situation differs but honesty should be the best option here.

Does anyone know how long they took the EKG for? Could infrequent heart palpitations disqualify you? Or is that something that can be resolved by a cardiologist and not get disqualified?

They took it for a few seconds; maybe a minute. Abnormal palpitations will probably raise a flag, and they'll follow up with you again requesting further information. You'll be asked to get a cardiology/cardiovascular evaluation on your own dime and to send them the results, so I'm guessing it's not an automatic disqualification, but will still cause some delay.

My experience was I had a heart murmur diagnosis back at the beginning of the year. I was sent to a cardiologist for an EKG (before applying for the bid). I took my paperwork to my medical appointment and they also heard a heart murmur, but EKG was fine. Medical department requested my previous EKG results and cleared me with the caveat that I get an EKG every year.

Has anyone gone out and gotten an eye exam before their medical date to make sure they have 2020 or glasses? I don't really know how long the glasses process takes

I went to a Walmart eye center about 10 days befor my medical. Ended up with a very slight glasses prescription. Got my glasses within 3 days even with Thanksgiving being one of the days.

I did the same thing and went to get an eye exam before my physical. I ordered a pair of cheap prescription glasses online.

Thanks, I think I'll try this- if I'm not 2020 than I'm just short of it and it's better to get it out of the way now.

Yes, I knew as soon as I got a TOL that I would have to see an optometrist. Went to Target Optical, and I got a contact for my one eye that had an astigmatism.
