Exactly. You train when it’s busy. Trainees don’t get to say “I’ll pass on this session.” If they are that’s a performance issue and the training team is failing their job. Taking leave on a weather day you can’t really control, but you can pull them aside and let them know without the weather training a recommend will be hard to come by.

It does bring up an interesting conversation though. If they force people to wear masks/shields, then they have to give hazard pay I would think. Also, like the article states it's not really a solution and can create a false sense of security. So if they don't want to pay hazard pay, and they don't enforce masks/shields, then it's impossible to bring back anyone with a reasonable expectation of "safety". What is the end goal?
