Btw, Key West is a true bonified country club. Too bad its contract. Duval st. makes Bourbon st. Look like kiddy games.

Speaking of debauchery, has anyone saw the episode of Creflo Dolla where LEAH gotti crys the blues ? MAGA

Key West should be FAA, it is more busy and outranks 90% of the current level four tower facilities.

I thought the Post Malone/JRE episode was cray, but this David Choe episode is ???????

How many airlines have failed since this started? I can think of 3 without looking. Sure it’s not news since the big 3 or 4 aren’t laying people off but there are pilots that we talk to who are waiting in the unemployment line right now.

the big ones are laying off thousands come Oct 1 when the payroll bailout ends.

Training is not going to happen until liability protection for employers is passed. It sounds like Mitch McConnell is trying to stand strong on the issue but the Dems are strongly opposed and whispers from the White House suggest they are open to make a deal without the protection. This lack of liability protection will completely murder every small/midsized business that can't afford expensive legal departments/settlement payouts. In America's lawsuit happy culture where everyone wants to make a quick buck, there will be endless frivolous lawsuits seeking compensation for contracting the Rona at work, or if you patronize a restaurant where the waitress tested positive, or if you fly on a plane where a stewardess had it. Everyone knows that Covid is out there. There is a risk that you are going to get covid if you go out in public. If you choose to accept that risk, you shouldn't be able to hold anyone accountable for bad things that happen to you. Can you imagine the compensation the lawsuit the FAA will have on it's if they restart training when it is not essential and there is a case where a trainee gives their trainer covid after they said they have to do OJT? I'm sure the government doesn't care and would just settle because it's not their money after all but that is probably a huge concern.

I’m not saying that won’t happen, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they were playing up the whole crazy October 1st lay-off to get more free gubmint cheddah.
They are definitely sending out their top guns to the media to cry in public to secure more funding that will ultimately go to waste and the worst part is that it's working. I've seen articles within the last day saying Congress is showing lots of support to extend the bailouts for another 6 months. What's going to happen in 6 more months when we're in the dead of winter and the airlines still don't have any paying customers? Are they just going to give the airlines "free" money indefinitely?

Yes. Or at least for four additional years under Biden.

Because a trainee is literally the only way I could catch it work ?. Not the sectors being split out and sitting next to someone, or forced to have a D side, or all the assholes that didn’t wear a mask before and still don’t after they were made mandatory

I know it’s a hot button topic but I love that all the “assholes” who didn’t wear a mask before still don’t. Blame the Agency. If they were serious about it they would have made the penalty more then a series of verbal undocumented warnings followed by the threat of........ PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS!

But that's inherent risk. Introducing training is unnecessary, hence why they are at home. I don't like frivolous lawsuits, but if you think they won't happen then you are being ignorant. The gubmint has deep pockets

the agency is already allowing training at OKC. Eventually this whole mess is going to lead us into a giant staffing crisis. If this continues for 5 years, undoubtedly it’ll be a staffing crisis for the next 20 after that. Staffing isn’t getting any better anywhere, it’s literally impossible. Some of y’all think this is going away overnight. It’s not.

Have you read my thesis on why we're about to be overstaffed? The fundamentals for my argument grow stronger by the day

yup, I have. Until you came along and wrote that I thought I was the most pessimistic person on here. You’re being wildly pessimistic about This whole thing. That’s coming from someone who FULLY believes trainees will be furloughed - or - come WAY closer than NATCA will ever admit.
I stopped reading your rant for a second time when you said “traffic will never come back.” It’ll come back. Might take years to increase above 75-85%, and that last 5% will take 10 years, but to say it’ll NEVER come back? Little far fetched.

So at what point does the agency pounce on the lower numbers and drop all facilities a level or 2? I think I saw they have that on hold for now but it has to be a possibility in the future right?

Soon if natca keeps just proving to them we can do it with less people.
