Which is my point as well because EVERYONE IS LYING TO MAKE THEM LOOK BETTER. You can’t rely on any of them to tell the truth because they all have much to lose, in an election year. Did the President lie about the severity? Yes, he significantly downplayed the issue and even voiced his support on drugs that wouldn’t work and were never tested to work against COVID-19. Did he know about the severity? Who knows, but I can’t imagine he didn’t know though which would make it true that he was lying about the severity. Is COVID-19 really that severe of an illness? Trump doesn’t believe so and believes the mortality rate is much lower as many of Americans haven’t gotten tested.
Are the democrats lying about the numbers to make Trump look worse? Very possibly and that the numbers are exaggerated and they’re trying to pin 190K+ directly on Trump. They need to look at their state and local leaders as well. I find it hard to believe that 6.5M cases exist, when false positives are prevalent, because I believe the mortality rate is at least double what is being reported here. So I think the actual number of COVID-19 cases is around a third to a half of what is reported.

If the mortality rate is higher, which I believe, than Trump looks significantly worse. If the mortality rate is lower, which Trump clearly believes, then he is going to look better when this event is over and present it as a case where he didn’t overreact like the Democrats wanted him to.

Well then there you go. Who knows though. If the mortality rate stays low or gets lower, Trump in his Trumpesque self will say he made the decision himself and he knew better than doctors that COVID-19 wasn’t so bad. If him and Biden are the best we can put up, in a country of 330M, we are already fucked!

You aren’t just electing 1 person. Biden will actually our experts in positions while trump will put in his kid. Maybe baron would be his chief of staff by the end of his second term.

Depends on how you define mortality rate. CFR is on point at 4ish %, but IFR is likely closer to .65%, per the CDC.
If you're under 50, it's about a 1 in 10K chance you die if you get it. If you're over 65, it's about a 1 in 20 chance.

Even if you cut the COVID death toll in half it’s still 30,000 more than a whole ass Vietnam War in 5 months time. It’s not an apocalyptic virus that will end the world but it should still have been treated with respect. The leader of the free world shouldn’t be saying it’ll disappear like a miracle 3 months after being briefed on it for the first time. It’s clear as day just how poorly Trump botched this coronavirus response. Doing absolutely no preparation for months until it was already heavily integrated into the US shouldn’t be defended in any way.

He probably thought to himself, let’s give these whiny bitches something real to bitch about for once instead of spending millions of government money investigating made up bullshit to fit a narrative. The amount of money and time spent trying to get him removed from office and do anything EXCEPT their actual job is astounding. Still no real budget though......
