I will pull the pin on this hand grenade, the Democrats want term limits for the Supreme Court.... Can we have term limits for Congress in the bill as well?
I don’t think they have a problem with that tbh. Districts arent gonna change. But their bill doesn’t have term limits for Supreme Court. It just rotates them back to the circuit after 18 years.I will pull the pin on this hand grenade, the Democrats want term limits for the Supreme Court.... I don’t hate the idea of term limits for law makers but it’s not really the same as asking for them on judges. Judges don’t have to be re-elected or reconfirmed.I will pull the pin on this hand grenade, the Democrats want term limits for the Supreme Court.... Well they needed something to make it constitutional. You aren't retiring at 56 from the FAA, you are rotating to a contract tower.
I'm all for it, but let's call a duck a duck here.
2 six year terms for a total of 12 all around. Enough time to not worry about an election for at least 3 years.I get the desire for term limits. The problem is lobbyists, as it is members of Congress can amass power in their own right. If they're being replaced all the time the balance of power shifts to the lobbyists, at least that's a big concern.
I would feel okay with term limits but keep them pretty long. Say five terms (ten years) for the House and two terms (12 years) for the Senate. And/or implement age limits, say a hard cap at 60, or even peg it to the Social Security retirement age. I don't want 80-year-olds making decisions about facebook and NASA and climate change and other things that they don't know about nor will live to see the effects of.

While what you said is true, I can’t imagine democrats doing anything differently had the roles been reversedthe point of that is that confirming a Justice during an election year was perfectly normal until the Republican objection over Garland. Until then no one on either party gave a crap about nominating a justice during an election year. But the Repubs changed the precedent and just a mere 4 years later are arguing the opposite of what they fought so hard for,
I think It’s technically protected by the first amendment of the constitution, but I do agree with you. Politicians shouldn’t have celebrity status and be inaccessible to the general public, but that’s how it is. Politicians don’t generally listen to individual voters, but go to opensecrets.org. It’ll become clear why they vote the way they vote.Reduce the amount of time spent of campaigning and fundraising while still providing opportunityfor them to be replaced, 3 four year terms.
Also while they're at it, make lobbying illegal...anyone explain on how it's not already?
I can get on board with this. I still believe neither party will propose term limits for themselves though.I get the desire for term limits. I hate how long election season is. National primary in July. Conventions in august. Election November. Easy peasy.Reduce the amount of time spent of campaigning and fundraising while still providing opportunityfor them to be replaced, 3 four year terms.

Money. We need to end the carousel of representatives being paid by corporations, that's corrupting the system absolutely. 100% on board with term limitsReduce the amount of time spent of campaigning and fundraising while still providing opportunity for them to be replaced, 3 four year terms.

Sunrise because nothing like the feeling of hope for a new day that surely will be crushed by noon.Sunrise or sunset? Cast your vote.
I prefer sunset because that means the end to another meaningless, bullshit day

I feel that. Caught the sunrise with my dog this morning at the beach. Magical. Then it all turned to shit with my wife when I got home. APPARENTLY it’s unappreciated when I try to slip my semi erect penis into her sleeping mouth. 13 years of marriage and still figuring it out ??♂️Sunrise because nothing like the feeling of hope for a new day that surely will be crushed by noon.
You should have told her you paying your respects to RBG by operating at half staff this week. She would have understood.I feel that. Caught the sunrise with my dog this morning at the beach.
