I mean.....real talk here if the markets take a catastrophic dump, world currencies get devalued etc etc etc why would the electronic monopoly money continue to hold any real value?

I really don't understand that tbh, and that's what keeps me out of digital currencies. I have a basic understanding of block chain and the basics of how the algorithms work insofar as simulated scarcity based on computing power and all that, but there's no hard assets backing it at all, and no legal recourse if I get had.

Just seems super risky as an investment at more than a play with it scale.
Well I hold less than 10% of my assets there, but I’ve personally come to see that there is nothing hard backing any fiat currency either, other than full faith in the US gov.

I personally believe BTC is more of a hard asset than USD. But only time will tell, I’m really only thinking about hedging against a Roman Empire type situation, or possibly even a 1929 run on banks again. My goal is to retire off US equities and my pension, but I want to keep at least one egg outside that basket.

Common sense would say that but don’t underestimate how big of pussies most of the population is, it’s conceivable that there will be enough people scared to ever go on a cruise again that it bankrupts all the companies before they ever recover.

AMC was the same case, it was really high then seemed like a guaranteed 500% gain if you bought during the COVID crash. But insane lasting regulations, people disinterested/disenfranchised with Hollywood, and other factors nailed it currently back to ten year lows just when it was looking to go on a recovery run.
TBH I’ve never been on a cruise, wasn’t that keen on it even pre-Covid, so I probably won‘t be contributing to their rebound.

Gold and silver, precious metals in general would be better. Maybe even bottle caps or ammunition. Fiat currencies at least have the extremely loose relationship of a country's economy.

Favorite fallout game? I fuckin love that series. Fallout 3 is in my top 5 favorite games ever.
Same. New Vegas was great, Fallout 4 was ok...kind of a let down. Didnt even bother playing the new one (I'm drawing a blank on the name that's how much I didnt want to play it lol). Bethesda is basically selling out like EA. Some of the best games I've played recently have been indie games from Kickstarter and on Steam. All the big-name publishers getting on the "DLC" and "add-on pack" train selling tokens and shit are a joke. I picked up a Stadia last month (got it for free signing up for Fios) and I played about 2 minutes of Elder Scrolls Online...what an absolute joke of a game. No storyline whatsoever, horrible voice acting, repetitive gameplay...just a massive money grab for Bethesda. SAD!

I'd put FFVII, BF4, MGS: Snake Eater, and GTA San Andreas in there to round out my top 5...but that's off the top of my head, I'm sure there's some I'm missing.

This is why I’m excited about cyberpunk. All the dlc is going to be included. So rare from a AAA release. Should be like Witcher 3 with paid expansions but if you grade it by Witcher then it’s totally worth it, the expansions for that game were awesome.

Yeah I'm pumped for that too. Witcher... is a great game, I literally have no fault with it except for myself. I play so infrequently and Witcher is just so expansive and plays a bit slower in that its horses and swords and not cars and guns...great game overall, super original but after like 15 hours of gameplay I was just like "I cant do this anymore" lmao

What you think of FF7 Remake?

Man you have to try it again. The Bloody Baron story line is one of the best quest lines in any game I’ve ever played and everything after that is also great. There are tons of mods for it, you can update the textures and it almost looks brand new.

Fuuuuck it's in my GameFly queue, I need it to come ASAP haha. Though to be fair some of the newer FF games have been pretty unplayable...they just turned into button mashers like Devil May Cry and God of War. I want them to bring back the turn-based RPGs haha

True, it's been a few years. I'll have to give it another shot...especially if I get that PC rig built. I heard RPGs are way better to play on PC cuz it's super easy to get around in your inventory with a mouse and keyboard.

FF7 Remake is absolutely nothing like you will expect it to be or dreamed it would be, but it was still somehow amazingly good. Just drives me nuts that it only covers the first 30% of the story and there is not a word of a second installment yet, it will be another 3-4 years at a minimum.

When ff7 remake came out some guy basically uploaded all the cutscenes on YouTube so I just watched that instead lol

Back in the early 2000’s I would buy CD’s on eBay of the cut scenes of long ass RPG games I wanted to see the story of but wouldn't had the time to play but it was never really the same for me.
