Hiring Bid Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee: FAA-ATO-17-ALLSRCE-53474

"testers" meaning testing centers or ones taking the test? Are we still expecting to hear on/by the 21st or is it now the 11th?
This is where the language they've given is ambiguous. I had the same thought as you. It seems strange that they would notify the testing centers prior to the applicants, especially after last panel where ~1,000 elected to not even take the AT-SA. Obviously a lot has been going on weather wise around the country the past few weeks. When I get in next I'll see what I can get as far as clarification goes.

Hello!

Still nothing, so is it safe to say that if I didn't get a test invitation yesterday, I won't be getting one at all?

If AT-SA emails went out you would know it. There would be so many hyped up posts on here. No emails have been sent. Breakaway said when they go out he will or somebody will "post an encouraging message for you to check your email."

Alright, thank you.

What Bo said. The official language they've posted is what I've shared here. It was originally 9/21, then it changed to the ambiguous language around 9/11. Everyone will find out together whether you're moving on or "weren't among the most qualified."
Thank you Breakaway! Hopefully I'll make it this time. Last bid I passed the B.A, the AT-SA and got made the referral list, but didn't get hired, let's see this time.

I'm not in the hiring process, I'm simply updating you guys to give you a better expected timeline. Nothing has gone out to applicants yet. Within the next month you will be notified if you passed the BA and are moving on to the next portion. If you are Pool 1, you will also be notified by September 21st to take the AT-SA.

So is Pool 1 guaranteed a chance to take the AT-SA?

I don't believe so. Still have to have either three years' experience or four years' college (and I believe some CTI schools were/are two-year), or a combination. There may be other reasons to deny as well, but I'm just a guy who can poke around the internet, don't have any special knowledge.

Correct, everyone that meets the basic qualifications to be considered for Pool 1 will take the AT-SA.

Awesome, thank you. This has given me much joy! (I know this is only the beginning though)

Meeting the qualifications that you stated would put you into Pool 1 though, I believe. In my case I have 8 years military service.

Pool 1 Criteria is...

Applicants MUST meet one of the following criteria (1, 2, OR 3) listed below in order to be eligible for consideration in Pool 1.

1. A graduate from an institution participating in the Collegiate Training Initiative (CTI) program and who has received from the institution an appropriate recommendation.

2. A veteran eligible for a Veterans Recruitment Appointment (VRA) pursuant to section 4214 of Title 38 and can provide a Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty within 120 days from the announcement closing.

3. An eligible veteran maintaining aviation experience obtained in the course of your military experience and/or entitled to veterans' preference (must meet eligibility requirements in section 2108 of Title 5, Unites States Code) and can provide a Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty within 120 days from the announcement closing.

Applicants eligible for Pool 1 will not take the Biographical Assessment (BA) unless they voluntarily elect to be considered in Pool 2.

Per the bid...
  • 2: Applicants meeting basic qualifications and/or passing the BA will be scheduled to take the AT-SA at a designated test site.
For where they're currently at in the bid, the only people that will be removed are those that haven't passed the BA or did not meet the minimum qualifications to be considered for the bid. Every eligible Pool 1 applicant moves on take the AT-SA. For those in Pool 1, you're simply waiting to find out where and when you'll take the AT-SA. If you're a 10 point or 5 point Veteran, your point preference will be added on to your AT-SA score.

It was previously listed internally that applicants would be notified by the 21st. They removed that date when they updated the information about when the AT-SA testing would occur.

internally? so 100% we'll hear by the 21st?
Having been around the agency for awhile, I don't think you can ever list something with 100% certainty. They post dates for each NCEPT selection process and they have been delayed numerous times. Prior experience facility placement typically comes 1-2 days after the dates posted. It's a little concerning that they removed that date in their last internal update.

HR is currently running a backlog. TOL's for the previous NCEPT panel have not been issued (going on 10 days) when they typically take 3-4, prior experience TOL's for 488 people are waiting to be issued, a direct hire N90 bid is ~ 2 weeks away, LAX/A80 ERR lists are ~ 1 week away from being sent to ATMs, and then sandwiched between all of this are the 5,000+ people who will need to be notified to schedule an AT-SA test for the all source bid.

For your guys sake, I sincerely hope you're notified by the 21st as they originally planned, if it extends beyond this time frame, there's a good chance they will update the information accordingly.

Is there more than usual going on within the Agency right now or is this about the usual time of year all of these hiring and moving bids come out? Or is he delay possibly due to all the craziness caused by the shit weather going on around the country?
