What difficulty did you practice on with the ATCprep software? Also, were the math problems in that section pretty similar to the ATC software? Or were they harder?

I practiced on the highest difficulty. I was scoring in the 90%. The math problems were also harder on the test. They stayed on the screen for a shorter amount of time, had decimal numbers, harder division. Math on the ATCprep software was relatively easy to guess since you could just add, subtract, or multiply the last numbers and find the answer that ended with that solution. Actual test had multiple answers that ended in the same number, or decimal numbers. The math problems were literally impossible so I would recommend mostly ignoring them and concentrating on collisions.

Omg if one more person about this ATCprep lol we get what's on the line but if you panicking like that from a test this not 4 you bro.

Relax man, just sharing my experience. Not sure why you are jumping to an assumption that I panicked.

It wasnt really directed at you..we just tired of seeing the "omg I'm pressing the right button but it's still saying they collided", "omg the test was nothing like the prep","omg if i I fail do i get a refund b/c it was suppose to be exactly like the test" lol

Just took the ATSA today! I did not prep, aside from some online mental math type stuff. A few observations while its fresh: section 1 answers primarily stayed on the 1,2,3 row of the numpad, with exception to the numbers 4 and 5 every so often. I found it personally helpful to simply whisper the previous number to myself when the next number appeared on the screen. I also kept my fingers on the 1,2,3 row to answer quickly. I'm confident I didn't miss one in this section. For section two, simply repeating the answers for a b and c, in order, helped me keep them straight when it asked for the answers out of order. I wish I had prepped honestly for the simulations. Spatial recognition only gives you what feels like 3 seconds to answer yes or no, and I know I didn't get a few of those. As for the radar portion, just making sure you can navigate the numpad without looking at the numbers is immensely helpful, because the dots move very quickly in the later rounds and there's not enough time to look. I hope this helps someone, and best of luck to the rest of you! Now we wait.

I think it's cool everyone is so willing to help one another but I wonder if everyone realizes that this test is competitive. Only the best scores will be hired. Every tip you give is allowing someone else the opportunity to become more familiar with the test and get a better score than you.

I dont believe in Karma but a little bit of good karma cant hurt right lol and you gotta be confident in your own abilities, there's plenty of ppl gonna get hired so if I can help the next man up along with myself makes me feel even more like a winner to be honest.

I was wondering when someone would post this... perhaps all the people who realized it already are doing the smart thing and just keeping quiet. Or maybe there are actually good people in the world who just like to help others out, but the cynic in me says that isn't it.

My outlook on this thing is simply that if I'm meant to do this job, then my performance and subsequent selection for referral will reflect that. But if I didn't actually perform well enough and I dont get selected, so be it. At least maybe I've provided some sort of insight to help another along their way. Competitive or not, we've all got the same end state in mind, and I prefer to help where I can.

I've seen so many people talk about the math and collision portion of the exam, but can someone shed some light on the word problems? How difficult are the logic and reading comprehension portion of the test? I'm hoping someone who took the exam can comment on this. Would you say its high school, SAT or LSAT level of difficulty?

Logic word problems were hard since, like everything else on the test, you have a very short amount of time to answer them. About 1 minute for each question. Their difficulty could vary per question, but there was some very complex ones.

Reading comprehension part I found fairly easy. It was probably the only part of the test that I felt I had plenty of time to answer with confidence.

Logic word problems were hard ... Reading comprehension part I found fairly easy.

This is interesting because I had the opposite experience. I finished both sections in time, but I found the logic questions were easy enough if you were just able to figure out the relevant info and write in on the scratch paper in a way that made sense. The reading problems... I'm a very good reader and I always excel at reading problems, but I'm only confident in maybe 50% of my answers there. The options were just so nebulous.

Different people see things differently, I guess.

You were able to use scratch paper? My testing center made it clear that paper and writing utensils were strictly prohibited on the ATSA, and we’d be instantly disqualified if we were discovered using them....

I don't know what to say then. The PSI people gave us the pencil and paper. The website the test was on explicitly said we were allowed to use them.
