Does anyone knows if we are more likely to be sent to a level 12 from this bid or prior experience? Or is it just completely random
For a prior experience bid if your experience was at one of the busy military facilities then you’ll have a good chance at being offered facilities in the upper levels. I remember seeing a guy from Eglin not too long ago being offered C90, A80, and a bunch of other places.
And if you go enroute like sizziano said you’ll have bigger chance.

EDIT: and i think if you go Terminal at the academy you’ll only be given a list of level 4-7s.

17a is signed for applicants.
17b is signed once appointed, if the form hadn't been completed prior unless we will need to sign it twice.

I take it as a means to rule out wasted money for anyone who checked 'yes' on any of the criminal boxes.

The instructions should have stated "complete the form but only sign line 17a, and leave 17b blank."

HCF wasn’t taking academy’s grads any more.
Hm, as a Hawaii resident this is kinda disappointing. Not that I thought I would ultimately get to go there, but I thought there was at least a chance.

Then again I didn't get a TOL this bid so maybe it isn't ever gonna matter 😅

The reason I asked is because my wife and I (have a 3 year old son) are debating on whether we should all go to Oklahoma while I'm at the academy, or if she should stay home with my son and start the process of selling my home, getting rid of stuff, etc. Plus I honestly want to he 100% focused the whole time at the academy, I hear there's a bit of studying to do on your own.

Be prepared to eat, sleep, and breath air traffic. If your wife and son come with just make sure she understands it's not a 9 to 5 job. The academy will need to be your complete priority. Additionally, can you afford to pay for housing in OKC and for a house if you don't sell?

I have a wife and 2 small children, but no TOL or CIL. When I went through the hiring processs in 2015, it was certain they would come with me. Mostly because I couldn’t afford to continue to rent our house and take a giant pay cut at the academy.

I’m a woman, with 2 kids and still didn’t have my husband or kids come along. I wanted to be all in, and focus 4 months entirely to atc. It paid off. Not sure if I could have done it with the children around. It’s 4 months that dictates the rest of your life. It was difficult but I don’t regret it.

I wouldn't go selling your house until you actually pass the academy.

IMO don’t sell all your stuff because ATC isn’t a for sure thing till after you pass OKC. I’m married with no kids. But I’m also thinking about things on how to make this process as smooth as possible for my wife and I. Most of us are going to be taking a Huge pay cut. And paying for rent/mortgage at 2 different places along with all other expenses will be tough.

ATC is not a guaranteed position if you don’t put in the work. So what happens if you don’t make it? Always try to push to see if your job grants you a LOA (Leave of Absense). Just incase things don’t work out in OKC, then you’ll be able to return to life as it used to be. If that’s not possible, then you’ll have to start all over.

I mentioned before that I am married, and trying to find out how this process will be as smooth as possible for my wife. She’ll be making the trip with me to OKC, but then flying back home, being that she works, extra income will be a great help on my end, helping the both of us get through OKC, and possibly AG pay at the facility.

Overall, we still have to get through the CIL and receive a FOL. Hopefully the process is smooth for everyone. I look forward to meeting anyone on here that’ll be in class with me in OKC. Let’s all try and help each other from now til evals. There’s something someone may know that I don’t and vice versa.

Did you submit a handwritten-like e-sig or just type your name? Did you get a "thank you" response or not? Wondering because I submitted an e-sig that's handwritten, and did get a thank you confirmation... wondering if there's a system to it or if it's just up to the individual HR rep.

I did an e-sig and HR told me it was good
