Hiring Bid Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee: FAA-ATO-18-ALLSRCE-57792

Got my physical and drug test done today. That was the last of the forms/appointments I had to complete. Time to hurry up and wait! Congrats to everyone getting a TOL today!
If you don't mind me asking, how long did it take them to evaluate you? Mine is tomorrow and I'm trying to plan a trip to the gym after lol. Also, did the doc disclose how it went after? For example, did he/she say "you're good"

I had my physical earlier today. It took around 30-40 min total. They just had me pee in a cup, did an EKG which took around 5-10 min, then tested my eyesight with and without my contact lenses in, did a hearing test where I just had to press a button when I heard tones of different frequencies, and the general blood pressure, heart rate, and stethoscope checks. Doc had me hang out in the exam room for 5ish min while he processed everything then told me they don't do a pass or fail, just pass the info along to whoever's evaluating my eligibility and whatnot. Overall a very low stress process, doc was really nice and informative.
EDIT: I had disclosed a car accident in which I suffered a minor head injury back in August but he just asked me if I'm fully healed, which I am. Not sure if the process would have taken longer if I was still healing. Medical POC asked me to email in all the paperwork regarding the accident, but for the AME eval itself I didn't need any of it.

When you go make sure they do everything they need too. I get to make another 3 hour drive to the doctors office tomorrow because they forgot to do my EKG

My medical he told me I was all good except the color vision. Supposedly they'll be reaching out to me to schedule the ATCOV. Yay, more waiting...

I'm assuming all the ones you listed on the SF-86. Maybe not military since changing commands happens often.

Any duty station you list, they'll get a questionnaire. When I got my TS, thats how it happened (had 3 mailed out). Oddly enough, they only mailed the questionnaires to my civilian employers going back 2 years though. This was 5 years ago, so I'm sure it has changed.

I hear ya lol I like to check it out cause if you look further down the list you can sort of get an idea of the locations that may have openings more often than others. In the end you only have so much say tho ?
I know it impossible not to think about, but focus on passing first, selection second. Our list was so incredibly different compared to we thought it’d be lol. Push for highest in your class to actually have the option to choose.

Seems kind of silly to request that information from a duty station you may have been at 9 years ago if they do. No one there will even know who you were.

Damn... after all that, my employer questionnaire arrived today before I talked to my boss about it. They weren't super pleased. Oops.

Absolutely. My first duty station called me 4 years later when nobody I originally worked with was there anymore and just sent the paperwork to personnel to check over my file. Government can be interesting at times.
