Hiring Bid Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee: FAA-ATO-18-ALLSRCE-57792

Over 700 cases currently backlogged in DC for Tier 2. Over 25 new tier 2 notifications from today's list. Expect a 6-8 month wait minimum (However, cases are not completed first in first out). The latest info.
You know, when you have 700+ people in tier 2, and you're losing controllers faster than you can train them, something is broken.
For reference, I was notified May 30, 2018 that I was Tier 2 (I'm from the '17 bid). Being a veteran I was asked sometime late summer to send my personnel records in. After that everything is viewed by the flight surgeon who then passed everything over to the tier 2 office in October. I received the email telling me they are looking for a psych in my area and to confirm I still live in the same city two weeks ago. Last week got the email asking me to sign a release for to send to a psych they found in my area. Got an email yesterday telling me to call the psych and schedule an appointment....once I complete the appointment the psych sends their findings back to the tier 2 office who evaluates everything and they have 45 days to make a determination....that's where I'm at not, although take into account the shutdown that happened.

What department do you reach ?
Aerospace Medicine

What email address did they send the info from after your case went to the tier 2 office? That is a good long wait. They have us vets by the balls requesting those records lol.

I believe it was the med email but you will deal with a contact with initials RC

Asked for an update from my medical POC and just heard back. He has all my stuff but "is out this week" so my current week of waiting is over, nothing's gonna happen. Just looking forward to Monday now ?

Took my MMPI pretty late (3/5) so it's nice to know that there are still people who took it in Feb that are waiting on their results for it. Probably still have a couple more weeks minimum before hearing anything.

Yeah, timings are all over the place. I was hoping for an April date and I'd go at super short notice but at this point I've just gotten used to waiting and checking my phone every five minutes (as if I didn't already do that before lmao)

They definitely aren't afraid to send people on short notice. I couldn't believe they offered me an April 2nd date yesterday.

That's insane. But hey if you can do it why tf not. I'd take that date in a heartbeat. I'm sure they know some of us are really eager and others need delays so it seems like they're pretty cool about working around that.

If I didnt have a wedding to go to I would have been all over the April 2nd class. I honestly never expected this wedding to interfere. From looking at previous bids and with the shutdown I thought the earliest I would get an FOL would be may/June. And here I am going to OKC in April!
