Hiring Bid Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee: FAA-ATO-18-ALLSRCE-57792

I think the potential for saving money at Isola since they provide two meals a day is pretty nice, but I really want to be at Anatole for how close it is to the academy and how new the facilities are... still trying to make my decision on that as well

Not sold on the quality of the food. Also I heard it's far from the facility but not sure how far.

Should I contact HR if my employment status changes? In my resume I had listed that that my current job at the time was till present, that job ended earlier this year. Do they need an update? Or is it fine if I just include this information in my sf-86? Kinda feel like i've been irritating my HR POC and don't want to hassle him with further unnecessary calls since I could include in my sf-86.

What plan do most young healthy single people pick??? It is all so confusing...
HSAs are great savings vehicles but very few of the medical plans have the option for an HSA.
Is there a Dental or Vision plan separate from the Medical Plans?

As a current fed, I like the blue cross basic plan. Not a huge premium, accepted allover and no deductible.

Yeah, the food isn't super great but it is super free, so that's nice. They always have make-your-own-salad as a fallback. Management is understaffed and slow to respond about issues but they get things done eventually. Wifi/internet is super slow and spotty (although sometimes it's super fast, but still spotty). There's a shuttle direct to/from MMAC—in the mornings it's about half an hour, afternoons around 35 min, at midnight coming home about 20 min (but it doesn't leave until 12:10 because it swings around to check for any stragglers).

They do have a "study lounge" at the facility with enroute maps and a terminal tabletop and lots of strips to play around with. They also have an okay fitness center—cardio machines, exercise machines, free weights, basketball court, swimming pool. Not a huge selection of anything but enough to keep you busy.

I do. I didn’t hear back for a month and then sent an email to the generic email which she responded to about 1.5weeks later
I had to send her some forms from the VA that she asked me to send, but she never replied with a "thank you" or "that's what I needed thanks". I know it seems trivial, but working for a big company that relies on stuff being turned in on time, and now this shit show, it makes me wonder if she hasn't even opened the email with the important docs.

Yes, I think IB is about twice the distance from the academy as Anatole. Trying to decide whether the free food is worth a longer commute and older accommodations.

It looks like most of the sites on the housing list want to just automatically charge the $57 per diem rate. Has anyone been able to get in at Anatole for less? If so, through which vendor?

It's not trivial. It's incredibly easy to send a one word acknowledgement by email and to not do so is ridiculous. But that's the govt.

They would have a lot less emails clogging up their inboxes asking for confirmations and updates if all they replied was “thanks.” It just feels like we’re sending these documents into a black hole ?

You could always try read receipts when you send an email.... unfortunately they can elect to refuse the read receipts but it may work.

I’m in the exact same boat. I haven’t generally been getting any sort of confirmation when I send things and it is a little concerning.
