Amendments this year

I’m biased because I’m not a big drinker at all besides a seldom sipper of allocated bourbon, but I’d get behind this. I’m never trying to be that guy that’s the no-fun police, but it’s a liability for NATCA anyway if you think about it. Pretty sure that’s the reason why they already have a two drink limit on member coverage at events.

I don't think it would be something sort of huge savings like some claim. For instance, I believe CFS bars are sponsored. You also are having to hit food and beverage minimums at a lot of the events. We could be replacing alcohol with 75 cookie packages.

Look, the thing about these amendments that everyone needs to understand is the same kind of problem we have with the US congress. The people voting on them are vastly not going to think of anyone but themselves and the people like them. They are not going to vote away their fun time and ability to enjoy these conventions and events with alcohol. They are not going to vote away any of their own rights or privileges. Just like how members of congress exclude themselves from things like the Affordable Cares Act, or how they will never vote to place term limits on their own positions. When you're at the convention it's highly suggested on how to vote, it's a club and you better be apart of it or you're an outsider.

The only way to change this is local facrep voting, but that's extremely hard when the only people who want those jobs are the people who want to be apart of this club.

I honestly thing they need to just get rid of CFS or make it every 2-3 years. just have 1 big event a year. Nothing from these events every filters down to the working controller

I’ve said this before, but let the fucking pilot unions sponsor and pay for CFS.

Their members are making conference hosting money, on a conference hosting schedule. We aren’t.

I’m sure the same 50-100 people that get to go every year will still find a way to attend.

I remember a few years back when I was in msp, ALPA/union reps got caught, at a meeting putting a few thousand $ on the tab for $50 cigars and high end scotch, bourbon, cognac etc. Their response-oh this has never happened befor, won’t happen again. Fuckers

I was just thinking...would you support an amendment that union funds may not be used towards alcohol? Not sure about elsewhere but some people think cfs is just a booze fest for instance
I sure as fuck would not support this. The union can not get us a raise until 2030, and nothing can change that. So If they are not going to get us money, at least give us unlimited booze and food at the one event a year most people go to.
