Another reason to avoid privatization

I was part of the TSA Union when I worked for Homeland, I can assure you the resources they can muster as well as the activism is dwarfed by NATCA. 32andbelow is correct in wanting answers on why we were not included.
It seems like they just didn’t catch it. Because they all told us we were in originally.

Here’s another reason. It doesn’t talk about the direct effects on ATC in Europe but you can bet there will be ramifications for sure
Who gives a fuck about Europe

Fuck
Management seems to have more of an “Open Door Policy” than do our “Brothers/Sisters”.

And also, #FuckNCEPT.

Sorry, that’s the “COVID” seeping through.

I dunno ask the tsa union what else could have been done on the family leave act.
There’s a lot of union “brothers and sisters” that do a lot of shit talking on other dues paying members that make it at places they sbouldnt. ESP when the CPCs talking are in leadership positions they forget who they represent there is good and bad with anything NATCA is no different we need them for many many things. But a lot of folks that move up within the Union ranks need to remember where they came from and if they don’t like people certifying that don’t fit the facility mold they need to stop acting like everyone is fucking equal.

I swear the anti union rhetoric on this website gets dumber every day. NATCA should be working on a vaccine I guess
Paul Rinaldi??? Is that you? How he got re-elected is beyond me. Took it upon himself without consulting paying members to endorse Hillary Clinton while choosing to neglect her history with unions (ie. Walmart) then went on to lead the way for privatization. NATCA has done great things but needs a new leader. We don’t need someone that ignores its members needs just to use his position to look out for his own interests and stuff money in pockets of politicians while making a name for himself as a shoe in for the next lobbying firm that knocks on his door for a better paying job.

Lol they endorsed Clinton in august, did you expect them to endorse Trump? If they don’t endorse anyone they look worse by trying to placate a minority of their members in spite of the overall good of the union. You can’t take a vote on everything, you elect leaders to make decisions for you.

Privatization is a great thing, it is the only way you will ever see any accountability whatsoever for inept management and decision making, small towers more aggressively shut down and employees relocated to higher need (and nicer) places, and the only way you will ever see cuts to non-essential staff that we don’t need (how many people do you see always sent home for weeks during a shut down and things like COVID, do you ever notice they are gone) and then those resources redirected someplace else that is needed.

But I’m mostly here to address the endorsement thing. I think it was fascinating the way they endorsed Clinton. If you were around during the Obama days or before, NATCA feverishly endorsed the Democrat, constantly reminding people to vote, even suggesting they should help with the campaign or donate, getting it in the media, etc....

They endorsed Clinton but it was so strange, it was almost like a small bullet point in a long quarterly update email. There was none of that high motivation and in your face endorsing I have seen. NATCA is super smart with this and I think they read the membership. They know controllers were almost split down the middle between Trump and Clinton, while in the past 90% backed Obama. Rather then piss off half the membership with a in your face campaign, they gave Clinton the token endorsement like almost all unions but just left it at that.

Brilliant.

What about Jill Stein? ?

Why relocate the controllers from facilities that are closed down? Cheaper to just can them, yeah? Trim off excessive spending. Which leads to higher bonuses for the corporate masters.

For one, many of those small tower folk either shouldn't be at or will not succeed at mid-level or high-level facilities, which in effect means (with exceptions) firing a bunch of them. If you're down with that- then while you may have a valid opinion- you sure don't belong in the union. And if you're using your voice in the union to support such a view, then for the love of God, stop. The union is supposed to protect members, not force us into "if you don't like it/can't take it, quit" situations. And if the issue is staffing in mid or high level facilities, a better solution is hiring the right amount of people for once.
Also, you wouldn't notice when a data-specialist trainee is sent home, that doesn't mean YOU not noticing means their job should be cut.

What this guy said. I don’t know how you can call someone “BROTHER!!!!” and then advocate their home town facility, where they live among extended family should be shut down. As said above, they may not be able to make it at a higher level and while they do their job beautifully at their level six you are advocating their firing, and they have probably been a controller longer than you!!!! Just because they can’t “work circles” around someone at a level 12 or a busy as shit VFR tower etc.

We should never advocate for the closing of facilities. Less options for us to work at is never a good thing, and it will absolutely not help the staffing issues facilities are seeing.
