I joined to hopefully find an air traffic controller that can help me out.

My company is working on improving a flight tracking system we've developed for the U.S. Air Force to make improvements to ease the workload for air traffic controllers.

To support our work and make sure we are really answering the needs of air traffic controllers, we want to hire an experienced air traffic controller as a consultant for 3-4 hours per month. We are currently finishing up our proposal and would like to include an experienced subject matter expert in that proposal.

Ideally, the consultant would have 10+ years of experience working at a major commercial hub and experience at multiple locations. Someone with military air traffic experience could be a benefit as well.

  • Project would have a couple of hours in the next month or two.
  • Main project would likely start Sept at the earliest, but may not start until early 2022.
  • Project would last for 18-24 months.
  • 3-4 hours per month.
  • Consultant paid based on hours billed. Potential to set someone up as a part-time employee if that's easier.
  • No travel required.
  • Pay rate dependent on candidate experience.

If you're interested, please send me a private message with some basic details about your air traffic control experience.

So you're out?

Seriously though, this is a legit deal. We're a small business looking for some insight from the people who actually use the systems. Someone with experience can get paid for their knowledge and experience. Not a huge time commitment. Pretty good gig for someone.
It depends? Are you willing to pay me for my time? Also what is your companies name?

I do not know if this is sketchy or legit. Tread carefully brothers and sisters

I wonder if the Navy has controllers that could be queried for a Navy contract.....especially since they would be the users it sounds like.

We are working on a proposal for a new contract with the Air Force. There is no contract yet. We don't have it in hand yet, but have to have the people in place ahead of time. And it's a development effort to help them solve some challenges they have. The contract won't start until late 2021 or early 2022.

Several posts were removed. If you don’t have a question or some relevant information, don’t post. If there is a problem with the person/post/company notify staff with a report or message, not harassing the OP.

Lol my fault for asking my brothers and sisters to use caution. This may or may not be legit. I don't know. It just seemed sketchy to me. Nothing derogatory or inflammatory was said.

IDK either, but I do know companies often submit SME resumes to the sponsoring agency for people that will be involved in a project to help demonstrate knowledge in the subject matter prior to contract award.

That's what we want to do. We'd like to be able to tell the Air Force we have someone with expertise in air traffic control. It's not a requirement, but we certainly see the benefit in making sure the improvements actually help those who will actually use it.

I believe we have someone lined up for this effort now.

Thank you to those who responded. I appreciate those who took the time to respond and chat with us.
