I worked enough jobs in the private sector (auto mechanic and then insurance) before enlisting to know just how good we do have it compared to many, many people even when stuck in a place you hate. Not saying there’s not better gigs out there cause there certainly is, but it’s also not nearly as bad as some people like to pretend.
Exactly. I still remember all my previous jobs.

This is not the best job in the world but this is the best job I am qualified for.

It a good question. It would be fair to call me a hypocrite ;)

I almost did once, but got a reprieve in the 11th hour and transferred. I supposed I will need to do that at least one or two more times in the career to make it to the finish line. In AA they call that a "geographic fix", and it never works because the underlying problems persist. The honeymoon period is nice tho. I keep thinking I will reach some Zen state where I am ok w all the BS & let that dirt slide off my shoulder

Ok yep relate totally to both of these :) Glad im
not alone lol

You really start to appreciate this job during a recession. When the rest of the private sector is worried about making their mortgage because they’re getting laid off...you still get to come into work

Or when we have a government shutdown and we are all worried about our mortgage/bills but we still come into work.

I have never once worried about a government shutdown. I enjoy free leave. If you can’t float two months of bills there were plenty of places offering to skip payments as well as 0% interest loans to help cover.

No need to run to a soup kitchen or a food bank like some I have seen........

Youre the first person with this take. I started my process around the last shutdown and went thru one while in the military. I saw a lot of ppl freaking out over not getting paid, but there are a ton of resources out there when these things happen. Granted everyones situation is different but it kindve caught me off guard.

OR a shameless GoFundMe page BEFORE even missing any checks. Its a free country but that doesn't mean you shouldn't have any dignity or self respect. Especially when there are so many other pages dealing with actual suffering, tragedy, and life or death type loss.

Are they different then the current class catalog posted? And what date did you receive?
It’s the same! I got offered Oct 10th, but I didn’t accept it since I wanted to push it back a bit to Oct 17th. She did say they were short on students and if she couldn’t get Oct 10th filled then that’s the class I’ll be placed in.

Wow nice congrats. I’m hoping I can get one of those dates too. I haven’t received any classes but I am medically cleared. Maybe today they’ll contact me I hope.

Maybe you’ll be in my class. They are only scheduling 6 to a class according to my HR. So far the next EnRoute class has 4 students and Terminal 2. They are having trouble filling classes due to clearances. She allowed me to have a later date but informed that there’s a chance the class could get canceled if it couldn’t get filled.

That’s just insane. 6? They should be cancelling every other class at this point. 12 is a good number. 18 is too many imo.
