According to the latest posts, a 2/19 has been called (and a March date, but I have my doubts). I was cleared 2/24 (per HR) and have not been given a date at this time.

It's government property. I'm assuming by the end of the Academy it gets returned.

Many facilities have training ipads so you may take it to your facility. But once you're done training it will need to be returned.

Is it possible to just use your own iPad if you have one or are you required to use the one they issue you? I know you need to use Zoom for classes, but is there additional software on the iPads they issue or is it just Zoom?

The iPad sucks. It’s locked down and doesn’t have much on it.

You can use your own ipad for basics. I finish on Tuesday and haven’t even used my FAA iPad for anything except to play the little games on it for fun ??‍♀️ I barely touch it. I’m guessing we’ll use it more in OKC. I use zoom on my MacBook and blackboard on my iMac

Great to hear, I still have *plenty* of time to wait before I even get near that portion sadly, but it’s good to know!

I asked my HR rep for enroute a few months ago and then they gave me terminal LMAO. Probably a good thing now that I think about it: higher academy pass rates, shorter training times since centers are all backed up, more possible places to go, can see outside and not stuck in a dark ass room screwing with your circadian rhythm in addition to shift work, potential to work at a tower only that isn't 24/7

And some pay more than a lot of towers as well

I was cleared beginning of march too. HR told me yesterday that they didn't think I would I get a September date it would most likely be October.

That’s what they told me as well. Likely get my start date info some time in July or August
