Just a data point for whatever it’s worth. I applied in June (I think) 2009, was hired in Jan 2012. From the time I applied and took the AT-SAT (9/2009) I didn’t hear anything until May of 2011 which was “when can you be available this week for your interview”.

I understand the process Changes over the years but I cannot imagine it’s vastly more efficient now than it was back then.
Thanks bro

Ehh I see where you’re coming from but this time around it’s impacted by a virus... not to mention traffic is Low. For all we know, we may get a TOL in 4 years 😂🤣😭✌🏼

Traffic is not affecting the academy lol. It’s always like this at the end of the fiscal year. As soon as the CR is passed they’ll send out a jillion offers and class dates

Would it be a bad idea to seek employment at other places while waiting for a TOL? If I'm understanding things correctly, it could be years before I am finally contacted, if at all. Maybe even just a temporary job that I could quit at any time.

It wouldn’t. I’ve been struggling to find a job since May...

100% find a job while you wait. Don't just find a job that you know you'll be quitting in the future either, find something that you would be happy doing for years and can make a decent wage.
A good majority of applicants apply every single year and a few never get a TOL and end up aging out. Especially with corona and other applicants waiting to take the atsa, everything is super unpredictable right now.
Not being negative, just being a realist.

It looks like the June bid got their onboard and class dates already. So they're still moving along in the process. I wouldn't give up on hope just yet.

You guys are hosed till they figure out a way for you to take the MMPI.
I agree with this. The process in general is so stalled it really doesn’t matter. The only reason people with their clearances are moving is because it’s FAA only. No natca to hold them back. Once they get out of okc they join the never ending holding pattern that so many trainees are stuck in. Yes, we do zoom “classes” but they aren’t letting us back into the facility for quite some time.

If we, who are far closer to being operational can’t even get back in, they aren’t going to be in a hurry to add in office staff plus “outsiders” to take the MMPI anytime soon. Prepare to wait for probably a year or two before actually getting past okc and into an actual facility.

I think your guys return is sooner than you think. They’ll want you in to be in the lab when the current people are out. But who knows.

I want you to be right, for obvious reasons. But I’d be extremely shocked if it was before the new year that we got back in the building.

My area isn’t putting the r-side people into the dysim until the end of the month at best. Not looking to be a whole lot of emphasis being put on speedy returns. My Z is definitely more of a slow pace to get people back in the building.

Ours should be thorough the r side backlog by mid nov.

Cant agree enough with your post. MMPI arent being conducted and OKC isnt even open. Theres no intel either from HR to when theyll start doing MMPI. Im sure current controllers can attest to this, My friend thats an ATC has no info at all, and tells me HR is still working from home except for a day or two. Gotta play the waiting game with NO expectations.

OKC has been open for months now.
