Hardship Q's as AG

Yeah, why don’t we put hardships into more of a hardship by forcing them to take it whenever it gets approved. Sounds like a lot of help to the agency.
The way the agency treats these things is such bs, you never know if it’ll be approved or denied. When they come to you and finally tell you it’s approved you need more than 2 weeks to get shit squared away.
Why don’t we just pay their rent then? That seems reasonable.

At an absolute bare minimum, You will always at least get until the end of the pay period, at which point you will have the option to take whatever leave you have at the new facility to get your affairs in order. It’ll usually be 2-3 weeks without trying before you have to use your leave. It’s not like they kick you out and you aren’t paid.

So because someone has a legitimate hardship we should put them in some more financial hardship just cause they asked for it. No chance to sell a house or get their life in order for a move across the country?

I’m saying that any legitimate hardship will have their ducks in a row and ask for exactly what they want and get it. And deserve it. No problems there. Most likely many in legitimate hardship territory won’t care and will go as soon as possible because it’s a more of a fucking hardship to stay there than it is to pay a lease out or go live with family because it’s a fucking hardship request.

But if you ask for a hardship for bullshit, no date just hoping it sticks, get a date and a facility then say, nah I need to extend that, and nah I’ll hold out for a better facility, that’s bullshit and it should be denied.

Also how many of the 700+ hardships in recent years have owned houses or had legitimate ties to the area they are leaving. I bet you it’s a smaller percentage than you think.

Not true. What about immediate/imminent situations.
Stroke, heart attack, accident. Fine then all of a sudden not.
What about if you have a kid that has an immediate injury or finally determine what the issue is and the only specialist is across the country. So trying to establish care, sell house etc…
Stuff can and does happen out of the blue where it sometimes makes sense to go immediately, or to wait a little bit.
What about if you have to travel for appointments across country but you next one isn’t for another month but then more a
Frequent after that. What about if there is a set week or two that ‘just work’ best that don’t put your whole family in a bind, to meet ‘the agencies timeline?’

This is what fmla is for. If you are on paper where you are currently or where you are going, fmla solves this exact problem, allowing you to meet the needs of your family without question.

And again, in the legitimate hardship request of the situation you describe above, you will request the date you want to go in the initial request to meet the needs of your hardship. And it should be approved.

If you make the request of a hardship without a date, of course it should be immediate. You are asking to go somewhere else because you have a “severe suffering” that requires remedy. Isn’t it assumed it should be immediate? It’s funny to me that’s not obvious to you morons. You go facility and date shopping that best suits your bullshit hardship after the agency makes a reasonable decision of approving your hardship and meeting your request to move on as fast as possible.

I agree with you on that.

Except Fmla isn’t paid. If you don’t have 12 weeks of annual or sick to cover it you can be in debt to the agency or go without a paycheck. I don’t know many people who can take 12 weeks with zero income. Not all of us at making good money at high level places

DontH8Appreci8 When I went through the process as an AG I had no updates on anything after it left the facility. When I did hear back it was hey it's approved and the receiving ATM would like you there at the beginning of the next pay period, I asked for a month and that's what they gave me. I was renting from an owner at the time so I just explained the situation, showed them my FOL and volunteered to give up my deposit and they had no issues terminating the lease early, maybe you could try that.

Yea but it allows you to take any days, no matter what, any leave type you want if you have it, you don’t have to get approval, it’s pre approved. You will most likely have some leave to use, it doesn’t all have to be unpaid. And you don’t have to take it all at once and you can request to go into the negatives. Take a month, go to work for a week or two, take another. This isn’t rocket science.

If you have a legitimate hardship you aren’t going to care about your leave balance and most likely everyone will do what they can for you. But if your spouse is lonely and has allergies of course no one will work with you.

Ngl you sound like someone who has no actual knowledge of how the process works or has been going in recent years. You just seem like a salty controller who is stuck somewhere and thinks random hardships elsewhere are the reason you can't get out of bumfuck.

Yes exactly. None what so ever. Thank you for your input.

I understand the process, just tired of people and their mental gymnastics to get things they way they saw it without knowing all the things available to them.

What do you mean I have to use my own leave for fmla? Is an example. Your kid has cancer it’s unreasonable for you to use your sick leave?!? Cmon.

I’m exactly where I want to be.

Cancer wont go away in 12 weeks of FMLA. Your argument doesn't really hold water.

If you care so much about other people's hardships and leave usage then by all means get a fucking job in management or HR and start denying them. Otherwise stfu and worry about yourself.

12 weeks is enough to get your hardship and get to where you need to be. That’s the point of what I said.

I care alot when people bitch and complain about the shit trainees or shit managment, or shitty FAA but here we have a process that people abuse and then bitch further when they don’t get their way, I shouldn’t have to use my leave to get my bullshit hardship the way I want it, that’s not fair. And people are still surprised we have shit trainees and shit managment, as if they didn’t come up with the shit culture around them. They are only a direct result of seeing what people have gotten away with around them. You think management is the only bad one? Natca and the other employees look the other way in si much too

Ehh I'm not reading that. Carry on abusing your family.
