I told myself I’d never post… but…
One of our fellow coworkers went through something none of us should have to experience. We can all talk about what he did right or wrong, or what we would’ve done better, watching from our Monday morning quarterback armchairs. Fuck the politics, fuck whatever the president, the media, NATCA says… this is something we all deal with every day at work, in every ATC environment. Most people will never understand just how many aircraft there are in the sky. You can follow every reg, use perfect phraseology, at some point something breaks. Unfortunately, for one of our coworkers, that happened. Now is not the time to say what we would, or should’ve done, but to support our fellow coworker. I’ve skimped on phraseology, I’ve been down the shitter, I’ve walked into the break room thinking I got lucky. We may never know what happened exactly, but should we all be trying to figure out who to point the finger at? I think we should be supporting each other for doing a job nobody understands, but they take for granted when they book a flight. Not trying to stir the pot… just my two cents…
