OJTI Premium Pay Temporary Increase

After the news about the light blue and purple book, this is a slap in the face. The union just proved with those books that the slate book negotiations look bleak. They’re trying to tout this as a win when everyone falling under the other books was notified today that they’re screwed.

Time to leave the union! Get your forms ready to submit in January.
Anyone with 2 brain cells to rub together knew any contract negotiations right now are going to be rough, and get worse with Trump. Idiots spewing "I will wear slacks for a 30% raise" on Reddit convinced the low information members only good things would come from opening the contract.

You guys do realize the first Agency pay proposal will be a split pay scale and pay cut for new hires, right? Just like they have when the Red book and Slate book was negotiated.

You guys do realize the first Agency pay proposal will be a split pay scale and pay cut for new tires, right? Just like they have when the Red book and Slate book was negotiated.
The current membership would sell out future members in a hart beat for as low as 5% imo.

I need about 50% premium to be somewhat enthusiastic about training. 100% premium and I wouldn't bitch about it again. I'm so sick of training and the NTI is a huge waste at a lot of facilities; simply burning people's hours unnecessarily. It sucks being at a place that forces people to train. I will still teach to the best of my ability, but damn it's so draining.

We did finally get several new people through the OJTI class but somehow the same old people keep getting forced to train. Let these new guys get their feet wet more. Take a chance.
it's the opposite here; all the newbies training constantly. Not even good at the job yet and teaching on d sides...

Those books were negotiated under the Biden admin. So when is the good time to negotiate?

You guys have CPCs that don't train? Man that would be the life
My current facility has a mixed management/natca panel that decides who gets to be an ojti. OS submits their employee for approval and then they "keep an eye on you" or something like that for a few months. Problem that some have with it is favoritism from the panel. We still have bad trainers and people who may make great trainers who are denied.

That's really my main problem with these OJTI premiums. It's not really helping everyone or the system as a whole. You could pay us 200% while training and the same amount of people will be checked out next year. Then there's people who don't get a chance to train at all. Some places have tons of trainees while others have very few... it's great if you get to train someone a lot, but others else gets nothing.
