Recently upgraded my PC build from 2020 and then "upcycled" those parts into a second build that I was going to sell, but my wife decided she likes it and wants to keep it for herself.
My 2024 "update" on my 2020 build:
Ryzen 5800X3D cpu
Thermalright SI100 ARGB cooler
Asus ROG Strix X570 mobo
4x8gb Crucial Ballistix 3600mhz RAM
Sapphire Pure RX 7900 GRE gpu
WD Black SN770 2tb nvme
Crucial P3 Plus 2tb nvme
Seagate BarraCuda 4tb hdd
Thermaltake Toughpower GF1 850w 80+ Gold PSU
NZXT H510 Case
Thermaltake CT120 and CT140 case fans
I haven't let it stretch its legs quite yet, but it should handle 1440p ultra settings gaming without breaking too much of a sweat.

I was lucky that the only new items I bought for the second build was the mobo, ram, and case. The gpu I was able to find a killer open box deal on. Not including the original cost of the upcycled/repurposed parts, it only cost me just over $400. Should be good enough to handle 1440p medium/high settings for her for quite some time.
