Hate to break it to ya but have to face reality at some point… 7 and below are and should be the training facilities. That won’t change.
This split system is cruel and unusual. Tower and enroute should just be different job applications tbh. One you go straight to making 150k+ and one your supposed to go to a “training facility”

Quoted verbatim from my region’s NCEPT rep today:
“The implementation of the new staffing numbers as they pertain to facilities hasn’t been fully determined as of yet. Some will probably move into those numbers quicker than others. There’s been talk that facilities gain to the new number but still release to the old, but again nothing has been determined yet.”

This sounds like it could turn out really good, or just remain the same that we’ve had in terms of ERR movement.

Wow….go figure the union is promoting movement

Yeah it definitely isn’t fair. Then you aren’t looked at as the same with a level 7 on your resume when you were never given a chance at a higher facility.

That would be amazing

Well people tired of feeling stuck it’s already being seen as the bar is being lowered for checkout. You think those 8 and 9 all of a sudden going to have longer lists? People are still going to shoot for the 10 11 12’s after being at the level 4 for 6 months.

Can’t even get a job teaching the controller game at the academy with level 7 experience. The controllers who passed and did the job aren’t allowed to go elsewhere because rules. Garbage.

Not that I don’t disagree but I’ve watched people come in, train for years, and leave a few months after certification because they bid a facility above me in NCEPT. 10 years in I’m still stuck, still training, and everyone is bailing. At some point a rule needs to go into place that a new cert can’t just leave on the next panel. Maybe a 1 for 1, if it took you 2 years to cert, you gotta put in 2 years before you are picked up in front of others who have been waiting.

I’m pretty sure if you score high enough at the academy they are adding some level 8 slots straight from academy

In case you haven’t seen what’s been going on the last several years, the agency basically makes that decision and NATCA rubber stamps it. I’m just forwarding what I heard which wasn’t a lot, still a bunch up in the air. You can simp as hard as you want for the Union, they don’t promote movement anymore than I’m a fucking pilot.

Good thing they aren’t going to listen to you and stop movement for a year. Not simping, you suggest stopping movement for a year. I don’t and glad union doesn’t want to either

That has always been done on and off going back to 2014. There’s never been any rhyme or reason to it. Sometimes 8s, or even higher appear. I saw classes that randomly had slots for HCF back in 2015.

The idea that they are finding a way to match 8s with high academy performance has always been a rumor with little substance. Until
There’s a policy memo or published SOP change, I put no stock in that idea.

100%. Shitty situations for the CPCs at 7 and below

Yeah not saying the system works because it doesn’t. Just saying how the lower levels should always get the new hires

There should be a way to factor in seniority for sure.

No you just generalize the statements of others WAY too much and misunderstand what the scope of an NCEPT rep is. They only represent NATCA as it pertains to the oversight of the agency making movement selections and making sure they adhere to the decision lens agreement. An NCEPT rep saying it [implementation of CRWG] is all pretty much up in the air is not the union promoting movement. Idk why you’re so stuck on this.
