I just said I wasn’t anti vaccine…I wouldn’t be open to taking it either because I believe my own healthy diet and lifestyle is enough and I was right. I was sick for a couple days and that’s it. That’s my freedom to make that choice as its yours to make a choice and get the vax. The science is joke because both sides have manipulated it to hell and back. There’s arguments on both sides that have scientific support.

Are you pro mandaters really that arrogant to say that nurses who have been on the front lines this entire time doing their best to keep people healthy now lose their jobs because they don’t want to take the shot? I’m not pro mandater but if you like guys that’s your own personal choice.

Jk, I have a complicated relationship with the vaccine mandates. Do I think they are necessary in most circumstances? Probably, but I think they are being wielding too broadly and there should be more nuance. If you had Covid 2 months ago my bet is you have enough natural protection to not need the vaccine yet but I also don’t know if it’s administratively feasible to try to carve out that many exemptions.

At the end of the day this is what we get and I don’t think it’s too big an ask to require people to get a vaccine that’s been demonstrated to be safe and effective.

You can stop them from taking dues at any time which functionally ends your membership. There’s a form somewhere out there that you can file to do so. That rule was recently finalized and was criticized by the now chairman of the FLRA so who knows how long it will last.

Yeah idk man every facility is different. I wouldn’t be surprised if things change at least a little.

You’re still required to be negotiated for as a BUE, but FacReps don’t have to share info with you they get or any other guidance, nor go out of their way to assist you in other matters. You’ll have to go to management for that, as well as complaints or issues, whereas you could go to the FacRep as a union member, and they’ll fight your battle for you if it’s legitimate or get you some guidance from higher up in NATCA if needed.

At our facility, non-members aren’t allowed access to the Wi-Fi (unless someone gives them the password), technically the TV, or several other things around the facility the union has paid for. But there’s not enough of a non-union presence to cause problems or raise issue if the four or so guys who won’t be in the union get into those things.

And you can still wear what you want since you’re a BUE, but once again, if you show up in something management doesn’t like, not sure anyone will jump to defend your position.
