Yes, I agree that doing drugs would not be conducive to a lasting career with the FAA. But if the vote to legalize came down to a referendum, I would absolutely be at the polls to vote Yes, though I have no doubt the FAA would make some sort of Nyquil-like policy so that you would need 72 hours after smoking to come to work so that it wouldnt be viable.Partially because it's still against federal regs. And no I don't think pot is up there with hardcore drugs if that's what you're getting at.
And I'm going to need you to break that second part down Barney style for me, I'm just a simple person from the South.

As for the 2nd part, after Canadian legalization, NavCanada basically classifies weed like alcohol use and treats their workforce like big boys and girls saying "don't be an idiot and come to work inebriated."
