Well it depends how much you want to spend. I would say before you absolutely say tequila isn’t your thing you should try:
Don Julio 70 $$
Don Julio 1942 $$$
San Matias Gran Reserva $$
San Matias Rey Sol $$$$
But honestly I think tequila purchased in Mexico tastes way better. It is usually 35-38% ABV compared to 40% mandated for US market.

If I had to buy a cheapie tequila bottle here I would get 1800 reposado or añejo or Centenario Añejo.
Tequila bad

Pierde Almas mezcal good
Arroqueño top five

I hope all of you saved up money after the last government shutdown. I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if we have an even longer one after Trump throws a tantrum and won't continue funding until Biden takes office.

We get paid though no?

DDHQ just called PA for Biden. Put a fork in it

There was a bill that passed last time around to guarantee backpay to anyone furloughed during a shutdown (which had always happened before, but wasn't guaranteed). Good news for the people in HR and any trainees deemed "non-essential" but anyone who was actually going to work would have always gotten backpay, no matter what.

Then there's the bill to allow us to draw directly from the AATF during a shutdown, meaning our paychecks never stop coming. That one hasn't been passed.

Basil Haydens is my go to bottle. It's a little rye heavy, I dig it. Thier rye is great too.

Also, thats some tin pot dictator shit we are hearing from El presidente.

Is Bagdad Bob still alive? Job opportunity!
Just bought a bottle of the 10 year aged (green label) yesterday. Probably pop that open today and see what its about. Laphroaig has an interesting taste if you've never tried it. Very smokey. Would be perfect on a cold night outside by a fire.

Laphroaig is my favorite. They used to have an 18 year that was excellent, but now it's a 15 year and I can't find that anywhere around here. Just the 10.

So many Covid exposures gonna happen the day the shutdown starts requiring 2 week quarantine. Good thing out sick leave balances should be pretty fat!

I'm not one for playing the TSP casino but...

Right now the stock market responded positively to the election (D president and R senate means nothing will pass and they can keep doing their shady sh*t). Taking a dip this morning because of you-know-who and his temper-tantrum, but overall will probably go up throughout this coming week.

Here's where I feel like I just took that pill in "Limitless": new COVID cases hit 121k yesterday in the US and has doubled over the last month. We just had Halloween and an Election in the past week. I'm thinking we're in for a large pile of something hitting the fan come Thanksgiving/December.

What does this completely level-headed and normal community of intelligent money-managers think of going hard to G fund after next week to hedge our bets on a shutdown and stock market tumble?

Islay is the only scotch I'll drink, I dont like anything else. Ardbeg is good, Bruichladdich Octomore is prob my favorite for a special occasion bottle.

Personally I think that change is silly. TSP is a marathon, leave it alone. Stocks take dips and there have been countless catastrophic market crashes that come back. If you want to play with other investments, I think your observations are relevant, but I don’t fuck around guessing with my retirement.

most people that lose money in investments lose it because they’re scared, not dumb.

edit: I’ll go one step further and say it looks like an interesting time to be buying in, but don’t listen to people on forums
