Training manager says no timeline on training resuming and even when it does not a guarantee we will be in the lab. *sigh* back to drinking
It’s weird that the training managers are so down the shitter with different information. Maybe it is being handled regionally?

Working partial positions >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Zoom
You’d rather spend 8 hours at work plus commute each way, than 4 hours on a zoom call? Crazy. Granted my zoom calls were only an hour, but working CD is damn boring. I’d rather be bored at home.

I would guess things are changing by the day, especially as facilities have more positive cases pop up. I was also told that training is still suspended indefinitely.

Word came from a telecon with the VP of the ATS whatever that means but it sounds important

I’m much happier working 5 and 5 then all admin. Plus it’s a nice pay increase with differentials. And they really make you stay all 8 hours?

Recently stopped by my old stomping grounds, and gotta admit I was surprised nobody was wearing masks... and I'm not in a republican state. For all their glorification here you'd think they'd be commonplace in the facilities. I'd be willing to bet those of you preaching about them aren't actually wearing them at work (or maybe you just haven't been back yet).
Except that one guy that told PT to fuck off or something.

And I don't think it's as PT suggested that maybe controllers are smarter than mask people, it's probably just because they think they know their coworkers and presume they are wearing masks and being cautious everywhere else.

I understand that point that you have to have a level of trust but IMO if you’re with somebody that close for that long if they get it you’re screwed anyways.

I wear one walking in/out of the building but not in position. I do wipe down the position before and after working it though. But I never have anyone near me when I’m working position. Even if we open a second scope we keep a scope between us. Obviously that would be much more difficult in a tower cab though.

It’s hilarious. They talk about how dangerous it is to train and then 0 people wear masks.

Our tower is one of the old ones designed by that Chinese guy that just died. It’s ventilation system moves a ton of air and pulls 10% from the outside so I feel like it’s kinda safe to be up there with others but who knows.

Nah I mean ground/CD is like 10 feet from local and when we have a standalone cic that position is in the back corner about the same distance away. I mean depends on your cab but where I am and with our staffing it's as good or better than sitting one scope away. The vator ride up is a different story though.

Pretty sure OKC has the tower design i mentioned above.

Have neve witnessed anything more hypocritical in my life. What it proves beyond any doubt is the mask mafia are really just playing politics. If they truly thought they were in danger they'd wear masks. In a way you could argue that this is much worse tho, because you're talking about disengenuous fake ass shady dishonest people, systemically to their core putting some political dogma ahead of... the whole fucking world. Kids. Life. Sanity. Sickos. They dont even know because they're too deep in. Has seeped into their pores indented their entire persona; probably to the point of no return.

PT unrelated to your post but I wanted to tag you. NATCA is pushing me to advocate for this HEROES act which includes hazardous pay for ATC and "protects us" can you elaborate? Agree or disagree?
