PT unrelated to your post but I wanted to tag you. NATCA is pushing me to advocate for this HEROES act which includes hazardous pay for ATC and "protects us" can you elaborate? Agree or disagree?

So natca wants raises for airline employees but not their own employees. I’ll get right on that

They want to delay furloughs for airline employees and they want hazard pay for controllers. Meanwhile, you two want backpay for sitting at home instead of being furloughed which is exactly what will happen to airline employees.

I’m not sitting at home. They still haven’t addressed training in 1 email which is 25% of the union but they want to lobby for airline employees. Do us first ffs.

I think they want an answer as to why their unions are advocating for another work group and ignoring the folks paying their dues. If they want to advocate for pilots AND communicate with their own members that’s probably acceptable.

airlines schedule based on market demand / profits, and staff of pilots accordingly. Not the other way around.

Maybe the FAA furlough that some of you guys are predicting will follow the airline furlough? Seems to me the NAS is a little more than just controllers.
 
Oh and let’s not forget that ALPA lobbied for us during the shutdown. I have no problem with NATCA returning the favor.

again, returning the favor is one thing. After they’ve looked out for their own. They’re neglecting to communicate and share info with a couple hundred of their members. Clearly NATCA has its priorities. Can the NAS function without any more new controllers ever?

some prefer to earn their money honestly and you cant fault those people. I know NYers get a bad rep but I’ve never had an issue when traveling up there - but I’ve also never been to LI. Regardless, though, the concern that nobody is being communicated with and the increasing fear that natca doesn’t care the staffing is only getting worse is a real concern for those that doesn’t have an essential status.
