These measures saved lives, no doubt about it. Simple common sense is: if you keep people further from each other and reduce spread of disease, the disease will kill less people.
The question we'll never know the answer to is whether it was tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands.
The right will argue less than 10K, the left will argue millions, and as always, those moderates who are grounded in reality will be shunned or ignored.

And when talking about what did certain places do. Requiring masks was a big one. Lockdowns were more important when it was straight out of control in a city or country. But once you get to a manageable level masks seem to work.

Sweet. I've been on board since masks became widely recommended or mandated. Heck, my local grocer put the policy in place mid-April (they've had 0 cases among employees in their 5 stores in the county).

So WTF?
Cali is the most liberal state in the union, so while *some* people in the state probably defy the order, that can't be used to explain away the increase.
And a month after the article was published, with dine-in closed and malls and theaters still shut down, Cali is still facing more daily cases than pre-mask mandate.

So my only response is anecdotal, but every one of my neighbors who has a property that borders mine has had at least one large party since the pandemic started, one of them has parties every other weekend. I’m talking dozens of people over drinking, etc.

Everyone who I see out and about while running or walking my dog is wearing or carrying a mask of some sort. I kind of realized the foolishness of wearing one constantly after a month when I considered my dog is on a 6 ft leash and nobody wants to get that close Lol.

All I’m saying is the way people are in general is they believe that rules about large gatherings don’t apply to them, because they will be okay. It’s hubris, and sadly, hubris can be deadly.

Well yeah nothing wrong with it, my point is that there are reasons other than Randos infecting each other outside for the increase in cases. Personally I don’t care, but I’m not going to feel any way about it when they are all crying bc mom is in the ICU and they can’t visit.

On the plus side, since I’m trying to be a responsible person, I’ve gotten a ton more camping in this year than I have ever since I was a kid. Beautiful country out here in CA.

FacRep telcon today said there are two workgroups that are planning to talk and maybe plan to get a meeting together about the possibility of collaborating among the workgroups over training and discussing how to implement a plan to meet to discuss things. Should start training any day.
